Summary
“On the eighty-first day, the fever breaks, ministered by the deft hand of a passing Shadow Knight. The howling knell of the bells ring early in the morning, as dawn spills over the horizon in blood-orange, and as the household rouses and footsteps drum on the floorboards, doors swinging open and shut, Gene of Borboros contentedly chews the rotting dregs of the peels from the bowl.”
Or—
The birth of Alina goes a little wrong, Gene is sent to get her, and is stuck for twelve weeks (or so he thinks) after being just a little too merciful.

Summary
Aizawa asks Izuku to watch Eri for the afternoon. It should be easy.
Then they find Kacchan in the dorm kitchen making curry.
Eri is wary of the loud, explosive boy at first, but curiosity eventually wins out, and she asks if she can help. Izuku fully expects Kacchan to refuse.
Instead, Katsuki pulls out a step stool. One thing leads to another, and soon Eri is happily cooking beside him while Izuku watches from across the kitchen, secretly takes pictures, and has several increasingly suspicious thoughts about how good Kacchan is with kids.
Thoughts that become considerably harder to ignore when his brain supplies an entirely too domestic picture of Kacchan standing in a kitchen years from now.
Izuku is handling this perfectly well. Then Eri asks if he likes Kacchan “like when people get married.”
Oh.
Izuku may never recover.

Summary
Without waiting for a reaction or reply, the man bore down on the gas and peeled down the highway, leaving Buck stranded in the middle of nowhere somewhere along Interstate 10.
And as Buck watched the red brake lights of his Jeep disappear into the distance, clutching his prescription of blood thinners tightly to his chest... there was really only one thing left to do. Tilting his head back until he was staring at the stars, he took a deep breath and screamed into the night:
“Fuck!”
And much like every other one of his recent cries for help, it had gone unanswered.
---
Buck gets carjacked, held at gunpoint, and stranded in Arizona the day before his first shift post-lawsuit. And that's only the beginning of his troubles.

Everyone knows about the cliche love stories with the school nerd and jock.
He’s a cheeky asshole who can’t seem to keep it in his pants. She’s the straight-A bookworm whose only goal is to pass chemistry. He takes off her glasses to reveal her “true beauty.” She falls in love with his supposed sensitive side.
But, this one in particular doesn’t quite follow the same boring formula.
He’s the star hockey player forced to take an art course. He’s the stubborn art major who just wants one stress-free year. And it’s gonna take a lot more than the glasses move and some smooth talking for either of them in this story to budge.

There was something…tense…as he continued reading. Freddie followed Tuck into the back of the ambulance, holding tight to his hand, tears streaming down his face telling Tuck “don’t ever do that again, okay?”
That was when the atmosphere started to shift, and Eddie started to realize he wasn’t just reading a story about a house fire.
It was almost…romantic?
Or: After getting roped into watching the newest season of Hotshots with Christopher, Eddie falls down an internet rabbit hole about the show, where he discovers the wonderful world of archiveofourown.org.

Summary
“How much English do you know?”
Izuku joined him on the floor. “Basic phrases, some verb conjugations. I could probably introduce myself and ask a few questions.”
Katsuki flashed him a smug look. “So nothing important.”
Izuku suppressed the urge to smack the back of Katsuki’s head, thinking resolutely of his Pros and Cons list.
***
Katsuki is fluent in English. Izuku wants in. Unfortunately for all parties involved, learning a language takes a bucket of time, a spoonful of consistency, a gratuitous pinch of motivation and several large helpings of persistence. Too bad they forgot the communication.

And truthfully, it’s not like he wanted to leave Buck. He wants more than anything to have Buck in his life forever. To see his smile every day until Eddie’s last. To grow old together.
He recognizes how that sounds, okay? Like he wants to— like he’s—
Well.
That’s a revelation that he probably should spend some time on.
But that time is not now.
Eddie barely has the time to recognize the crashing noise. He doesn’t even process what’s happening, just that he’s off the couch in milliseconds, shoving Chris out of the way.
And then he’s on the floor.
Everything goes black.
--
Buck has realized he’s in love with Eddie, just as Eddie’s moving to Texas. Eddie might need another moment to catch up. And “you just never know what tree might fall on you along the way.”

“I feel like I’m unraveling,” he says, and it’s not poetic. It’s not dramatic. It’s just the truth.
Aizawa watches him.
“You’re not,” he says.
Midoriya huffs a small breath. “Then why do I feel like—” His hands flex slightly against his knees. “Like I’m… less than I used to be?”
Aizawa exhales through his nose. He leans forward, rests his arms on his thighs. “Because you’ve spent your whole life defining yourself by how much you can take,” he says. “And now, for the first time, you’re feeling it. And it’s heavy.”
Or, you don't unlearn pain; you learn to carry it differently.
