See, here’s the thing about these fanfics — most of them are so horrendously out of character that Katsuki can’t really immerse himself into them. None of his classmates’ personalities are actually accurate to how they are, least of all Kirishima and himself. It gets annoying.
Every once in a while, there’s one that’s believable enough for him to be interested, but they’re few and far between, and Katsuki starts to think that there’s no real point in digging through all the bad ones for the gems.
Eventually, he gives up altogether.
If you want things done right, you have to do them yourself.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku did not realise he’d been wearing rose-tinted glasses for most of his life until the day he finally took them off. It was only after their fight at Ground Beta that every illusion he had about his relationship with Bakugou Katsuki crumbled beneath his feet, leaving only the cold, harsh truth behind:
Bakugou may have been his childhood friend first, but he was his bully for much longer.
Naturally, everything changed after that. The nickname ‘Kacchan’ became a distant memory, just a reminder of everything that Bakugou had ever done to him, and Izuku was finally ready to move on. He even managed to convince himself that he didn’t care that Bakugou never apologised. That he was fine.
And then he got hit by a quirk which bound him to Bakugou, and suddenly things got a whole lot more complicated.

Deku, Deku, Deku, Deku… His mind was at it again, the clashing temperatures no longer muting his fucked-up obsession. Because it had become one, an obsession with trying to find more answers, the final clue that would solve the enigma.
Izuku Midoriya died. Not that anyone noticed.
His mother carried on with her life unknowing of such tragedy. His middle school still graded his papers and marked his assistance in class. The world had lost a hero but was none the wiser.Or; All Might came late to the rescue the day of the slime villain attack leaving Izuku Midoriya to die.
…Oh, and his body got possessed by a transmigrated reader who just tries to adapt as best as he can.

Maybe, just maybe, there was never a reason to hate each other in the first place. Maybe they could get along-- and although you'd never hear this from Shouto-- maybe he'll enjoy it.

But Zenitsu lies to his friends about having a girlfriend in the heat of the moment, and ends up discovering that same day what Inosuke's face really looks like. Inosuke agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend on the condition that he spends a weekend out in the mountains with Inosuke. As the two boys prepare for the worst dance + weekend of their lives, they begin to realize that their relationship isn't what they thought it was.
Permanently unfinished because my plot notes had the last chapter written as "you know what happens here" and I'm afraid I don't. Feel free to enjoy what all was written though.
