Nikita spoke 5 languages fluently (6 if you counted Layton-ese) and could get by in another 3 but none of them helped him find the words at that moment. “You want us to do what?!”
“I told you on the phone, you said it was fine. I did explain… and, more to the point, what did you think we were doing here today then?”
Nikita stumbled to the chairs and sat down with his head between his knees. His heart was racing and he could hear ringing in his ears. He felt a hand on the back of his neck pressing down and a familiar voice encouraging him to take deep breaths. Eventually the racing settled and he lifted his head.
“This is not how I pictured spending today.”
