He caught a glimpse of him once, watching him during one of the rare times he was allowed to accompany his father to one of his courtesy visits to the Gojo household. Toji’s presence was tolerated, at best, and he didn’t need to be told to know it was better if he made himself scarce. He took a stroll through the extravagant garden, sneering at the excess of it all, when he saw him: Gojo Satoru, accompanied by one of his many caretakers.

Summary
At some point during the summer of their senior year in high school, Go Hyuntak stops hearing anything in his left ear.
The change happens gradually. Halfway through the year, he starts turning up the volume on his earbuds while listening to music. Near final exams, he gets used to walking on Baku’s left side so he can hear with his right.
In the third week of July, Geum Seongje gives him one good slap on the cheek and his hearing is gone before the initial sting has even dissipated.

Let Seong-je get close enough to leave a mark.
And Seong-je? He wanted to dig this feeling up. Strip it down. Watch it burn.
