Eddie, who has been speechless this entire time looked shocked, “Bail? Who bailed us out?”
The officer rolled his eyes, “Don’t know, don’t care. Just get the fuck out of my station.”

Summary
“He’s gone. I don’t know where he went.” The woman said. Eddie read her name tag, ‘A. Ellis, MD’
“Dr. Ellis, right?” she nodded, “I’m Eddie, this is Buck. We’re here to get you out of here.”
“You can’t! My patient… he woke up and I don’t know what happened, but I blacked out. When I woke up, he was gone!” She coughed, “We have to find him!”
Eddie and Buck looked at each other and then back at the woman. Buck spoke up, “Dr. Ellis, right now our priority is you! We’ll find your patient.”
“You don’t understand! He’s important! He had CC-“ But Buck interrupted her before she could finish.
“Doc, I can assure you that we’ll find him, okay?” Buck looked at Eddie and he could’ve sworn that Buck’s eyes softened for a moment. But that moment was gone as fast as it appeared. Buck’s eyes widened and he suddenly screamed, “EDDIE WATCH OUT!”

Summary

Eddie remembers the look on Buck's face when he said he matters to him. It never occurred to him how much, though.

There was something…tense…as he continued reading. Freddie followed Tuck into the back of the ambulance, holding tight to his hand, tears streaming down his face telling Tuck “don’t ever do that again, okay?”
That was when the atmosphere started to shift, and Eddie started to realize he wasn’t just reading a story about a house fire.

When Bobby had arranged the camping trip, it was with a particular goal in mind, one which he had expressed to his wife early on in the planning.
“And how are you going to make that happen? They’ll get a whiff of you interfering and it’ll be game over,” Athena had commented, but despite sharing her namesake’s wit, she didn’t understand the 118 quite as well as he did.
“I don’t have to do any interfering. All I need to do is get them there, and the rest will work itself out.”
And he was right. A little too right.
Secrets are spilled and truths brought to light when the 118 and their partners go on a camping trip.

“Eddie?” Buck called from the kitchen, eyes glued to screen as the name disappeared and turned into a missed call notification.
“Did you find it?”
“Yeah,” Buck responded, just loud enough to be heard. He stalked out of the kitchen, phone clutched in his hand as it hung loosely at his side. “I found it.”

Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)
