Summary
Evan Buckley has always been very good at keeping things in separate boxes. In one, Los Angeles and the 118 know him as Buck. In another, he's Boomerang, a highly-trained Navy SEAL. The two have never once touched.
For fifteen years, "I love you" has been quietly replaced with the promise to always come back. A habit older than his career as a firefighter and built by someone who loved him when he was young. Most people who have heard it don't pay it any attention.
A series about found family, the people who show up unannounced to love unconditionally, and what happens when a man who built his whole life out of walls decides to knock them down.

Summary
The words hit the back of Buck’s neck and slid down his spine with the drops of the cold sweat collecting in the small of his back. The weight on Buck’s chest was an echo of what it used to be but still as suffocating as before when those words whirled around on repeat every time someone looked too long, looked too closely.

Summary
"Bobby?" Buck breathes shakily, one hand gripping the phone and the other gripping the railing.
"Buck? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Bobby answers immediately, concern dripping enough to fill a pool. He doesn't sound like he's been sleeping and Buck struggles to remember if he's on shift or not.
"Can you—can you come pick me up?" Buck asks, and he sways slightly, breath quickening as he leans a little too forward.
"Of course," Bobby says, and Buck can hear the rustling of him grabbing his jacket, the jingle of keys, the swoosh of paper falling. "Where are you?"
"I'm at—” Buck chokes on his answer, scared to say it aloud. He knows what it'll sound like. And the worst part is those assumptions won't be wrong.
or, Buck finds himself at a bridge, teetering on the edge and calls Bobby. Bobby does what he always does—shows up.

“Did you know if you put a frog in water and slowly bring it to boiling, it won’t hop out?” Chris is chattering as Buck makes a quick dinner while Eddie argues with his gas company on the phone. He can hear the occasional swear word in Spanish as his voice raises. Eddie doesn’t like to raise his voice around Christopher – the very thought makes Buck want to kiss him full on the mouth – so he decided to take it to the living room while Chris sits with his homework in the kitchen and Buck cooks.
“Hmm?” Buck asks, unable to fully pull himself out of Bobby’s baked mac and cheese recipe. It took him years, but he finally convinced the man to write it down. Bobby’s handwriting was juvenile at best on a good day, but this was nearly unreadable. Buck wonders if he did that on purpose. “Frogs?”
“Yeah!” Chris states. “My teacher said that if you put a frog in a pot, you have to make sure it’s not immediately boiling. You put them in water and then slowly raise the temperature and they won’t realize what’s happening. Then once they realize, they have no place to go. They can’t jump out.”

Summary
“Eddie, I—” Buck swallows hard, voice catching in his throat as Eddie’s cock slides against his, thick and warm and huge.
And huge is not an exaggeration.
And Buck knows he’s not lacking in that department. Hell, he’s been told more than once he’s a lot. He’s seen guys do double-takes in locker rooms, seen the way hookups have lit up when his pants came off or even a couple shy away at the thought of taking him all (which was fine, he’s good with his hands and his mouth, they both always still had a great time). He’s not shy about it—never had a reason to be. The nickname Firehose always had multiple meanings.
So the fact that he’s currently realising now he’s the smaller one?
That Eddie—his best friend, his newly minted boyfriend as of thirty minutes prior (holy shit!!), the guy who makes him feel seen in ways no one else ever has—is bigger than him?
That throws him. Not in a bad way, not exactly. Just… surprising. Disorienting, in the kind of way that makes his brain short-circuit a little.

Eddie Diaz has a big dick. Buck is a little intimidated. Eddie makes it fit.

Summary
Buck is dealing with the breakup just fine, thank you very much. Losing Tommy hurt like hell, but he would be okay like he always was after heartbreak. Even as he starts to talk about the relationship, things that went wrong, the things that just never seemed to click, things that make him angry and panicked, he tells himself that those feelings are normal after a serious relationship ends. It's normal to feel resentful, and mad, and betrayed, and horribly disgusted.
Except according to his friends and family, that is all very, very NOT normal.
Or a messy vent fic based on the song Body Back by Brye, where Buck has to slowly realize being coerced and pressured into sex by your partner isn't normal and is very much sexual assault. With a side of protective and enraged Eddie who wants nothing more than to heal all of Buck's hurt.
