"Buck!" Eddie's whole body felt like it was on fire with a mix of adrenaline and physical pain from the lightning.
Eddie didn't even give himself a second before he was stood up and heading up the ladder to get to Buck's lifeless body.
Eddie's body was swaying from side to side, his ears were ringing, but none of that stopped him from climbing upwards.
By the time he got to Buck, it had already been close to a minute since Buck had become unresponsive. (In 9 more minutes, he will be brain dead).

The shattering sound of plates erupted in the air like a crack of thunder and Eddie’s gaze shot up from his phone. Something was wrong. It was a hair thin trigger that had been switched the moment he caught sight of his boyfriend and the whole world could’ve stopped for all Eddie knew. Buck was staring down at his hands, breathing way too fast, and drowning in some kind of panic that only he could see.
“Eddie?” Carla called. “Is everything all right?”
Something must have shown on his face if she took the phone away from Christopher.
“My hands won’t work,” Buck said so quietly.

Summary
Buck and Tommy haven’t even been together for two months when Buck starts thinking about ending things. He hates himself for it, a little. He can’t put his finger on why the thought crosses his mind as he lays with his head on Tommy’s lap while they watch a documentary about a Napali mountaineer’s quest to summit the 14 peaks. It might have something to do with the put upon sigh Tommy had let out before agreeing to watch it with him. Or perhaps it was the fact that his fingers didn’t end up carding through Buck’s hair until he asked him to do it.
Buck knows that he could talk to someone about it. He has plenty of people who would be willing to listen but each time he goes to say something he remembers how proud they were of him when they found out about Tommy. They’re happy for him and already have so many other things to be upset about. He’s made them worry about him too many times already; it’s better if they think he’s finally okay.

Eddie stopped dead. His hand came up instinctively, the way he used to move in combat.
And then-
A sound behind them.
The door slammed shut with a bang.
Buck spun toward the door, but Eddie was already moving—gun instinct, no weapon. He yanked at the handle. Locked. Solid. No give.
“Shit,” Buck breathed, backing up toward the middle of the room. “This is..." he looked around once more, "this is a setup.”
From above, there was a hiss. A faint metallic clink.
Then came the gas.
