Summary
What started as a simple "fork in the road" AU became a series and ate my life.
JSYK, this is a Sterek series, but they are an asexual-but-romantic pairing in an open relationship. Derek is asexual; Stiles has a FWB arrangement with Erica (with Derek's okay) but Derek and Stiles are in a committed, romantic relationship.
Here’s the official order! It gets a bit complicated because “Onwards and Upwards” is a series of shorts that take place throughout the series so chapters of it are wedged between different fics.

He sees Derek smile just a little. “And that’s why you’ll make a better alpha than I would have. I’m okay at giving orders, but . . . not so good at taking care of people. And that’s a big part of what the alpha does. Takes care of his pack.”
“Yeah, I’m a natural at that,” Stiles says, thinking back to all the time he’s pestered his father to watch his cholesterol, to the times he’s harangued Scott into doing his homework, to the times when he’s sent flowers or little cards to Lydia when it was obvious that Jackson was being a jerk to her, just to see her smile. “That’s okay too, you know. Sometimes you just need to let someone take care of you. Even you need that.”
He expects Derek to scowl or snarl at this, but instead Derek just turns into him a little, nuzzling his face into Stiles’ neck. “Maybe,” he allows.
It’s a win, and Stiles accepts it for what it is. He thinks of some different things to say, some of them clever, some of them sappy, as he lies there and enjoys being surrounded by his family, by his pack. Lydia’s head is still resting on his thigh, and Scott has flung his arm out in his sleep so it’s flopped against Stiles’ stomach, and he can feel Derek’s breath on his throat, which should be unnerving but isn’t. He thinks of a lot of different things to say, but then he realizes that Derek has fallen asleep, and before long so he has he.

“You are not stupid,” Shiro dragged Lance against his side, letting his arm rest heavy around his shoulders, “and it looks like you’ve got most of the team here, anyway.”
Shiro nodded in the direction of the paintings pinned to one of the blanket walls, and the various tools and electronics scattered around too that had to belong to Pidge and Hunk.
“Yeah,” Lance admitted, “they like the view.”
“It is an awfully good view,” Shiro agreed.
They sat quietly together for a while, watching the planet turn under them. Their orbit took them over one of the poles, and the atmosphere lit up with rivers of blue and purple in their own version of the northern lights.

Tim smiled as politely as he could manage and extended a hand. “Tim,” he greeted the man. “Pleased to make your acquaintance. I look forward to being your new robo-child.”
The man scoffed, loudly and derisively, and a finger came down squarely in the center of Tim’s chest, rough enough that it almost pushed him back hard enough to send him sprawling onto the floor. “Let’s get one thing straight, Tim,” he sneered as Tim’s smile fell along with his hand. “You are not, nor will you ever be my child. You are not Jason and you are not Dick and you are not my son. You are a piece of equipment and your life here extends as long as your usefulness does.”
Something in Tim’s chest cavity constricted painfully. He’d hoped… well, he had obviously been stupid. He should have worked this much out for himself, based on their first meeting. Limply, his hand fell away to his side. A year, at most, then. That was how long Tim would have to live.

Everything goes great until it’s time to stir the potion with a wand. Should’ve seen it coming, really—Zangetsu isn’t a wand; Zangetsu is a deadly weapon.
Between them, Ichigo and Shiro and Zangetsu somehow manage to vanish not just the potion, but Ichigo’s entire desk as well. It’s not just invisible—he checks. It’s gone, and so is part of the floor that was under it. He’s lucky he didn’t take out a chunk of his legs. And he has no idea—like, did he destroy the desk, or is it just hanging out someplace else? Is it on the roof? Is it in Soul Society? What the hell?
“Kurosaki,” Snape says in a cold, carefully restrained tone that’s probably stifling a whole lot of screaming. “I have never, in all my years of teaching, seen anything like this. Congratulations, your failure is unique.” ... “Do you have any idea what you did here today?”
“No,” Ichigo admits, annoyed with himself. “And I was trying to be careful, too. I think it’s the wand.”

"I'm strangely reluctant to send you off to fend for yourself, since obviously you suck at it," he says. Mike listens, but he keeps eating as if there's a time limit on his soup. "And you're earning me millions of bonus points everywhere by being tiny and pathetic and my responsibility."
"I'm not tiny," Mike protests.
"Whatever. Plus you're marginally interesting. So let's make a new deal," Harvey says. Mike sets his spoon down. "You do what I say, you come to classes with me, you keep out of trouble and under the radar. In return, I offer you rent-free shelter, free meals, decent clothing, and the chance to bask in the greatness that is me."
"Don't undersell yourself," Mike replies.
