April spots Shredder among the guests at event celebrating the opening of a new exhibit at the City Heritage Museum. When she goes to confront him, he admits he's there to steal something from the museum and dares her to figure out what it is. With no way to contact the turtles, she poses as his date to give herself an excuse to stick close to him and unravel his clues to what it is he's after.

Krang eagerly accepts the challenge, but didn’t count on how much an uncooperative hostage and the Technodrome's long list of repair needs the would divide his attention. The malfunctioning robot running loose doesn’t help matters, either. Elsewhere, the turtles have an unexpected encounter at a convention visiting the City for the weekend.

But as the boys are taking turns standing guard to prevent him from escaping, they each have to come to terms with the reality that the monster who had been terrorizing them for so long was never a monster at all, but a human man. Somehow, that's even scarier.
