Summary
Now that Macaque's spirit and memories are healed, he and Wukong have agreed to try and make amends and try to rebuild their friendship. But that was never going to be an easy task. Luckily, their new friends are here to help. As long as both Wukong and Macaque are open to their help. And as long as they are able to learn how to listen to and help each other.
Aka - I'm putting Wukong and Macaque in therapy courtesy of Sandy. We're going to deal with their mutual traumas and hopefully give them a happy ending by the end of this.

Summary
At the first chance he ran. Macaque wasn't about to be used by the Lady Bone Demon, but it wasn't really in his plan to run into MK and his group of friends. He didn't really have a choice to stay though his powers were on the fritz and his injuries were enough to slow him down. He would just have to deal with Wukong for awhile and the stupid emotions that were resurfacing as they find themselves on the same side again.

Life has never been easy for anyone, especially for Varian. He seemed to be cursed or something. Even though he doesn’t like to base his explanation on magic, his life did seem to be affected by it. Especially since the black rocks appeared. Ever since then he was acting out of character, getting mad more often and having trouble sleeping. But the moment he talked to Rapunzel and promised to help with the rocks, everything fell apart.
But now a new opportunity has shown. He could find a way to free his dad and get rid of the rocks. And he could find all of that by just… going on an adventure?

Fueled by love and rage and longing, emotions he had repressed for so long, he ran. Jumping in the way of the spell and allowing the cursed circlet to take him in place of Wukong.
He does not know that this brief lapse in judgement, this tiny break in his walls of hatred, would change everything.
