Summary
On his first day of school Will was called to the Guidance Counselor's office and given a little yellow card. He was told that if he ever felt too overwhelmed, or anxious, or scared, he could show his teacher the card, and they’d let him leave the class for a few minutes, no questions asked.
Will could see the pity in his Guidance Counselor's eyes as he handed him the card. He could hear the condescending tone in his voice as he told him that if he ever needed anything, anything at all, all he had to do was ask.
Will had stared up at him, his face blank.
Yellow was the color of fear. It was the color cowardice, of terror, and every other synonym for the stupid word.
He looked down at the card, gripping it tightly in both his hands, crinkling the edges, promising himself that no matter what, he’d never, ever use that card.

Mike doesn’t know what’s going on with Will and Robin, but all he knows is that it makes him want to scream. Or curl into a ball and cry. Or jump off a cliff. Any of those options would suffice, really, to convey just how much he hates it.
