Summary
It had been a mistake. Xuē Yáng hadn't intended for Xiǎo Xīngchén to break. That wasn't part of the game. That wasn't fun.

After using an impulsive and dangerous technique to save Xiǎo Xīngchén's life, nearly at the cost of his own, Xuē Yáng embarks on a road he'd never thought he'd walk. He and Xiǎo Xīngchén were meant to be together, obviously, but the dark had proven too suffocating for Xiǎo Xīngchén to survive (red on white, red on white, bad thought, bad thought), so obviously Xuē Yáng had to step into the light. Summary
Sometimes, when Fan Xian turns around and sees Wu Zhu, he wonders what on earth that guy must be thinking. Wu Zhu is looking at him, Fan Xian can feel it more than he can explain it (he still can't wrap his head around the parameters of Wu Zhu's 'blindness'; with his eyes in whatever state they are under the cloth covering his eyes – Wu Zhu can tell that a lantern is red, but can't read a letter?).
And, the way he looks at Fan Xian, though, makes Fan Xian worry about Wu Zhu a little. From what he can get, Wu Zhu was sort of a friend of his 'mom' in this world. Despite losing much of his memory, he still stuck by Fan Xian, protected Fan Xian, even cared for Fan Xian in his own weird, robotic way for all those years because of her – which meant she and Wu Zhu were pretty buddy-buddy way back when.
But over the twenty years of his life here, Fan Xian can count on the fingers of one hand how many times he’s seen Wu Zhu smile.

That was the only warning.
He said it softly, like a statement, almost casually– so casually that Sirius turned expecting him to ask something about what they were having for dinner, or telling him he wanted honey in his tea, or complain about how off brand sports-drink didn’t taste as good as Gatorade.
Instead, Remus’ knees were already buckling. His arm was sliding off of the granite corner of the countertop, and his shoulder was colliding with the barstool to his right, and his body was thudding against the hardwood, and the only warning Sirius got was his name. That was it.
He was moving before he even realized what was happening.

“S-I-R-I-U-S,” Remus said. He stocked croissants into the display case, not looking up. “The Dog Star,” he added, “brightest star in the sky, actually. Visible from both hemispheres.” When he looked over, the man– Sirius– seemed surprised, his eyebrows raised as Remus spoke, and when Remus finished, he blinked a few times before smiling lopsidedly.
“Er– yeah,” he breathed a laugh. “That.” There was a baby on his hip. Somehow, it had taken Remus a second glance to notice that.
