Sonic halts, Shadow finally manages to put a little something in his voice- finally finds that bite he was previously unable to incorporate, leaving his words to slice into the darkness and straight through the moon. Right into Sonic, who stands there for a moment, watching as Shadow starts to grimace when he turns away from Sonic, preparing to leave.
That’s not fair.
or, Sonic is back- just not entirely. Lucky him, Shadow's the only one who can understand.

“I’m heading up that mountain, see if there’s anything useful around other than stupid pine trees and-” He spits, a snowflake falling on his tongue, perhaps a little dramatic but there’s a pain sinking into the forefront of his mind and an intruding chill in his fingers, slowly crawling up, clinging around the perimeter of each individual bone. “Fucking snow.”
Wade boos at him, waving a hand, and Logan can hear him shove the pilot into a different position. “We should at least see if the corpse has somethin’ special. Like a cursed amulet, now that’s cool. Imagine that plotline, you’ll have to save me from corruption, peanut.”
“You do that,” Logan says dismissively.
Or, Logan and Wade are thrust into a snow storm and they find a cabin among many other things.

Peter hates how effortlessly his eyes follow the movement of her hands, the way her knuckles graze across her face at the action, and he feels like one day he wants to be able to do that instead, that in the future he could just move the hair out of her face for her, and feel his fingertips shyly dance across her cheek.
It’s thoughts like this that he tries to get rid of, yet they keep coming back, and because of this it takes him a second to refocus his eyes to Felicia’s, swallowing like if Felicia hadn’t noticed, his body is betraying him and trying to appear like the most obviously caught in the act person within twenty miles.

Wilbur had gone to look for berries when he heard the sound.
It was not often he heard someone in as much agony as the man was, lying there on the ground, bloody gash covering his knee where armour might usually be. His pants appeared half-ripped where the wound bled.
He was one of the bad ones, Wil could tell. The mark on the little bit of armour still clinging to his body had the symbol he knew. He was one of them.
Or: Wilbur finds an injured trooper (Quackity) in the woods. Comfort and understanding ensues, along with some realizations along the way.

-Naturally, Raleigh punctuates his mangled series of sentences with an extremely large bite of Snickers, just so he has something to choke on when Mako says, “Will you have dinner with me?”
A speck of peanut almost comes out of his nose, but Raleigh croaks, “Yes,” and then has to cough to free his lungs of any stray bit of nougat. “Now?” he offers. “Are you free now?”
“It’s two in the afternoon,” Mako reminds him.-
