But when the family estate landed in his lap, something in him stirred. Curiosity, maybe. Closure. Or just the pull of home, calling him back. Before he knew it, his apartment in Chicago was left behind, his bags were packed, and he was pulling down the long driveway of the house he used to run through barefoot as a boy.
The faces were familiar—some weathered, some unchanged—but none hit him harder than Dean Winchester. Once the lanky, sharp-smiled troublemaker who used to sneak pie from the windowsill and drag Castiel into every wild scheme, now a full-grown man with a body built from labor, tattoos curling up his knuckles, hands and arms like smoke, and a voice deeper than Castiel remembered. He owned a brewery on the edge of town, wore flannel and grease like a second skin, and still had that same devil-may-care glint in his eye.
Castiel came back for a house.
He wasn’t expecting the ride Dean Winchester was about to take him on—wild, hot-blooded, and anything but simple.

What starts as a stoner night turns into a full-blown sexathon: fingers, mouths, sweat-slicked skin, and more orgasms than either of them expected. The movies roll in the background, but let’s be honest—Dean’s man cave has never seen this much action.

Castiel. An experienced thief and con man, much like Dean. Except where Dean and Sam depend on Charlie’s creative banking, he has the backing of a very powerful and very shady criminal empire.
Cas’s blue eyes flick past him to the display. The tuxedo fits him perfectly, doing a lot for his shoulders. Dean tries to ignore it. “Thank you. I’m assuming you’re here for the diamonds as well?”
(A master thief, Dean Winchester has planned for everything that could get in the way of this job. Except, of course, for Castiel, another thief with impossibly blue eyes and a knack for finding Dean’s weak points.)

A week ago, Dean was pulled out of Hell. Now, he’s apparently woken up in 2018, and the angel that a mere twenty-four hours beforehand had threatened to chuck him back into the pit is sleepily pouring himself coffee and wearing Dean’s second-favourite Zeppelin shirt. It all seems like a perfect happy ending, but with Hell’s scars still so fresh, Dean can’t imagine how he could have possibly gotten there.
At the same time, the Dean who went to sleep in the bunker, right next to Cas, wakes up on Bobby’s couch in 2008. He’s instantly bombarded with questions by a Lilith-obsessed brother and a man who’s been dead for years, and must decide between keeping his finally-perfect life intact, and the lives he could save by re-writing history.
Regardless of these choices, both Deans are trapped in the wrong decade, and their only way back lies with a Castiel still very much under Heaven’s thumb – one who might find the future Dean describes difficult to believe.

Of course, in another world Castiel can imagine Dean loving the post, were he not involved. He would flag Castiel down sitting at the kitchen table or perhaps one of the couches, and he would say something like, “Hey, Cas, listen to this. Am I the asshole. Listen.” Dean would clear his throat then continue, reading from his phone, “I, 4.543 billion years old, male, recently broke up with my boyfriend, 42 years old, male. We had dated exactly one month, which we agreed to when we started the relationship. The relationship was quite good, as far as I’m aware, and lasted 30 full days. I broke up with him on day 30, as agreed. Now he is angry at me. I have to assume that this is because I broke up with him. Reddit dot com, am I the asshole for breaking up with him, even though we did agree to a month-long relationship?”

Well, technically he’s been invited, so yes he should be here, but the pounding music and the heavy fog pluming along the beams created by the dance lights have his brain scrambling to figure out why he’d thought it a good idea to even inquire about an invitation to this place. Dean couldn't shake the feeling that he was about to jump headfirst into something that he wouldn't be able to control. And for an alpha whose entire life was built on control, it was both exhilarating and terrifying.
