Summary
On any other day, Adrien would be patrolling with Ladybug, and Nathalie would be assisting in another evil plan. Except, oddly enough, it didn’t end up anything like that. Instead, the two are forced to work together in circumstances that were previously inconceivable.
For once, the miraculous had nothing to do with it; unless you count an identity or two being at risk. This is fine, though. Really. There’s absolutely nothing that could go wrong when being taken hostage (according to Adrien's novels, at least).
Meanwhile, those left behind are forced to wait. Nobody is coping.

Marinette has a lot of weight on her shoulders in the wake of the Miracle Queen battle, having to carry the burden on her own, struggling as she always does except now she has no one to talk to who knows exactly the extent of her responsibilities. And even though she has memorized Master Fu's final letter, she just can't follow in his words, of the "ability to accept change in ourselves."
Steven, fresh off the plane to France, in his time on his road trip across the States has gained a newfound wanderlust for visiting new places and actually getting a chance to experience living like a normal human and so sets his sights abroad. Thankfully, he knows a thing or two about change, and about how hard it is to accept it.

They say karma always comes back to bite you in the end. Madame Bustier's class learns this the hard way after Lila Rossi's lies are exposed and a bigger, badder bully takes her place.
Henri LeRoi is the handsome new guy. His first day at Francois Dupont, he sets his sights on the beautiful, endearing and mysterious Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Which would be okay-if he wasn't a reverse Lila. He torments the rest of the class ruthlessly behind her back, and if anyone tries to tell Marinette the truth, he makes it look like they're the ones bullying him. Marinette is so convinced by Henri's gentlemen act and blinded by lingering feelings of resentment of the past that she believes everything he says and disregards her friends' claims completely.
Adrien knows he made a mistake when he chose not to help expose Lila. He's determined to not make that same mistake twice when Henri starts manipulating Marinette into turning on her friends. The question is, how does he do that without Henri turning the situation on him and the class and making them look like bullies like he always does? And why does Adrien feel jealous of Henri whenever Marinette flirts with him?
