Katsuki asks him one night in front of the fireplace after dinner why Izuku hasn’t left. They’ve added on to Katsuki’s small hut, made more yard space for herbs and vegetables. Before Katsuki realizes, his home has turned into their home.
The way Izuku looks at him has his blood simmering. Izuku doesn’t lie to him.
“If it had been any other Alpha, I would have." But he says something about Katsuki has him wanting to stay. Like he should know him. Like he smells familiar, even though they had never met until a year prior.
Izuku nervously twiddles his fingers, bunches the fabric of his pant leg then releases it. “My… my season starts again soon,” he admits shyly. When their eyes meet, it has Katsuki holding his breath at the longing he finds there.
“I don’t want to spend it alone again,” Izuku declares between them. It’s soft, a simple breath like he’s scared it’ll upset the entire delicate balance they’ve built. “Not… not when I always feel you so deep in my bones already.”

So when he's stopped on the streets one day by a pup begging for help for his mom, he isn't prepared to face what he gave up, and what the consequences of his actions were.
Now with a traumatized pup to take care of and the horrifying thought that he's going to watch Izuku die because he wasn't there to protect him, Katsuki knows he's going to have to do better. He moves in with three people that insist they are not his new Masters and who seem to be the antithesis of his former owner. As long as he's able to protect and live with his pup, Ness, he's fine. Even so, he can't help new feelings he doesn't understand that come with this new life of his.
Athena, Ray, and Cyrill have settled into the nuances of their relationship over their years together. They make their relationship work largely through extensive communication and planning ahead. An omega hybrid who's too scared to look them in the eyes and whose vocabulary largely seems to be composed of the word "sorry" doesn't quite hit that mark, neither does his child who's never seen the outside world. Nevertheless they vow to help he and his child get back on their feet. Too bad they can't help the feelings they catch along the way.
