“Wait…” Tails says, wary, as Sonic stretches his hands above his hand and then revs up, like really revs up, like really really revs up, all while keeping his eyes fixed on the pinball flipper where it sits a good few yards above them. “Wait, what does that mean? What do you mean?”
Sonic takes a moment from his apparent calculation to shoot him a thumbs up over his shoulder, which again is not nearly as comforting as he seems to think it is, and then he turns back to it, and a moment later- well, and then a moment later, he launches himself directly at that pinball flipper.

He couldn't breathe. His breathing sped up, but Tails didn't seem to notice, eyes wide with terror, arms shaking, and out of habit, tails poofed together as one. Sonic looked at him with confusion and worry. "Tails..?"
Freak. They kept calling him freak. The same way they had done-
"I am not Miles Prower." Tails whispered to himself, trying to stay in control of his body and mind. "I am not Miles Prower." Sonic looked even more confused now. "Buddy..?" He took a step in front of him.
"I am not Miles Prower I am not Miles Prower I am not Miles Prower IamnotMilesPrower-"
Lightning struck.
Sonic was the first he saw, reaching out his hand- Tails couldn't help his next reaction and freaked out.
"DON'T HURT ME!"
