Julien sees Aranessa’s jaw go taut. “Thank you for thinking of us in our time of mourning,” she grates out.
“Of all Houses, House Tachonis would never seek to downplay or invalidate the importance of a mourning period. However, certain circumstances warrant a loosening of the proscribed timelines.”
Julien’s jaw falls ajar. He can't possibly mean...?
“I fear I fail to understand you," Aranessa hisses. "Elaborate.”
“All this recent unpleasantness was the consequence of years of unfortunate misunderstandings between our two houses. In contravention of what one might expect, I am pleased to say that I am here with an entreaty of peace.”
Aranessa allows a long silence to transpire, one that seems to make even Ethrand uncomfortable. “I will hear the details.”
“In exchange for a lasting peace, we only seek to solemnize this new alliance with a vow.” Ethrand smirks. “Accordingly, my father offers you the hand of my brother Occtis in marriage.”
Julien looks down at the rug. If he doesn’t look down at the rug, he’s going to start shouting.

He watched dawn break through the window, and still the thought lingered. They were on their way to protect Thjazi's widow from whatever machinations had been put into motion by his death. Before, he had wanted so badly to go with Kattigan and Teor, to be back in the Torn Banner, sheltering behind Teor's shield or helping Kattigan trap rabbits. Now…he didn't know what to do.
A band of soldiers head to the Golden Orchard in search of answers. Unfortunately, the mountain road isn't peaceful.

Hera could see the way this man had put himself between her crew and Thrawn, who was still perched on the cot. At first, she’d taken his stiff posture as evidence of the rod up his ass that all high-ranking Imperial officials seemed to have. Now that the red glow of the ray shield was out of the way, though, she could see the way his skin was pale, drawn tight over the knuckles where he was tightly gripping the edge of the cot, and the shallowness of his breath. Whatever Thrawn had gone through to get captured by Saw, he was hurt. And whoever this human was, he cared about Thrawn’s pain.

An easy wind blew through the trees, carrying with it the smell of wildflowers. From where he was sat, the trees in front of him bowed in such a way he could see the lost Elven city of Arlathan. Mikhal wiped away the blood, now just trickling, from his brow. Squinting, he could imagine what the city would've looked like untainted by Tevinter. A marvel of Ancient Elven engineering, golden towers that had once housed knowledge now lost to the rot of bloodshed and time.
Loss of the self is the source of suffering.
Mikhal staggered into a realisation; this was as good as any place to die.
The plan was simple. Mikhal Aldwir would die stopping the Dread Wolf's ritual. Thedas would be saved and he would have given his life for the greater good; a death with purpose.
To his own dismay, Mikhal survives. He's stuck playing the role of "Rook", the charming leader of a group of bas in their impossible fight against two Elven Gods.

As they grow, the world changes around them and their perspectives shift as things and people come between them. Eivor finds himself in the arms of Vili Hemmingson, a childhood friend and confidant. He clumsily explores his desires whilst Sigurd watches from the sidelines, burning with a jealousy that he doesn't understand. Eventually, both boys grow into men and their mutual desire can no longer be ignored, despite what it might mean for their brotherhood.
The story follows the years previous to the game as Eivor turns into a young man and Sigurd tries to figure out his new-found feelings for his brother. Slow burn as we will start when Eivor is just 14 and go through the years to Eivor becoming an adult. First two parts will almost exclusively focus on Vili/Eivor but there is an undercurrent of Eivor/Sigurd throughout.

Summary
The world of Menarths has gone for a long period of time without any disturbances of the greater peace (for the most part, excluding the time there was a war between the country of Mistfold and South Pelinath, but that's besides the point), but when the princess of Mistguard disappears through a treacherous gate on the other side of the known world, the King holds a tournament to search for the best fighters in the land. Hopefully, in creating a solid party of adventurers, the princess can be safely found and brought back to the place she belongs.
His hires include the paladin Harvard Lee, infamous for solving a werewolf problem without silver, a sportfuck bard from a noble house, Aiden Kane, a monk from a part of Lowtown with a heart of gold (and, perhaps, a surprising understanding of the blade), Eugene Labao, the renowned monster hunter Seiji Katayama, traveled from the largest city in the world just to be hired, and an underdog fighter who cost a lot of people their bets, Nicholas Cox.
This was, to put it lightly, an utterly terrible idea.
