Summary
This fic used to be tagged “out of character” for like three days because I was only finishing s2 when I posted it but I just went through the first 3 episodes of s3 and I’m absolutely convinced nothing about this is far-fetched (apart from the obvious). I probably could have gone even farther because what in the character development just happened.

Turning around, Jonh frowned a bit “did I wake you?” he asked before settling back to his previous position.
“No. Your absence did.” no hint of anger in his voice, only worry. Sherlock was analysing him. Expressions, posture, voice crack.
“Sorry” Jonh said ever so softly. He took a deep breath, squeezed his eyes shut, his fist, lying on the table close to his chest, turned white. His entire body contracting.
“It’s bad tonight.” not a question of course, he knew since he walked in. He sat down on the chair next to John.
John gives a short nod as an answer. Realising he breath, his muscles relaxing.
“Where?”
“The usual.”
“Show me. Precisely.” -

“Good morning, Papa Shane,” Ilya hums, “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“You ass,” Shane mutters in his ear, “I got you such a good gift this year. I knew you’d love it. And you had to go and outdo me— again!”
When they break away from each other, Ilya reclines against his pillows and rests a hand on his flat stomach. His expression is ridiculously smug. Shane might say his husband is glowing, if he didn’t permanently look like a Greek demigod.
“It is not the gift of human life,” Ilya says, “But I am sure your gift is almost as good. Is it chocolate?”
“Fuck you, it’s better than chocolate,” Shane huffs.

“Sylvia,” Shane murmured, clearly mortified.
“What?” she said innocently. “I’m just saying. And I’m also saying that a certain someone here, hasn’t stopped staring at someone else since they walked in. Their partner has been doing all of the work.” A brow was quirked towards the Russian paramedic.
Ilya nearly dropped his gauze “Da- I mean no, I—” he started, then stopped, flustered.
Shane looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole.
Cliff snorted under his breath and turned away, suddenly very interested in the supply bag.
Sylvia leaned toward Shane. “Ask for his number,” she whispered loudly enough that it wasn’t a whisper at all. “They’ll be taking me away in T-minus five minutes. You don’t wanna miss your shot kiddo!”
Or Shane is a Librarian and Ilya is a Paramedic. They meet , fall in love, have a baby together . Oh and Shane is Autistic and worries a lot.
