Summary
When Hannibal Lecter's latest assignment fails catastrophically, it leads into a deadly chain of events: Undercover agents around the world are exposed en mass only for MI6 to be attacked, forcing Agent M to move the agency underground. With MI6 now compromised and under political scrutiny from the nation they're sworn to protect, Agent M once again turns to the only agent she trusts: Lecter. He just went back to grab his bag, but naturally he managed to knock the books on the counter over, the top one falling to the floor, opening in the middle. For a second he wondered if he should just leave it - Mrs. K always knew when he touched something he wasn’t supposed to, no matter how careful he was - but he couldn't just leave it there.
Miles straightened the tomes, noticing a second too late that his fingers were covered in some kind of powder. In the dim light it looked like good ol’ dust, so he didn't think anything of it, rubbing his hands together to get rid of it. He closed the shop and looked at his watch, swearing under his breath and breaking out in a jog. He only had six minutes to get to the station.

Max felt incredibly out of place in The Tobacco, and he looked like it too. He tried to dress down, opting for a hoodie and a pair of jeans, but he knew that there was something very… prep school about him, no matter what he did.
The bartender - a new one - gave him the stink-eye as soon as he walked in, and Max could see him itching to ask for an ID before giving him his beer, but thankfully this wasn’t that kind of establishment. Not like Max was very under age. He was already in college - an Ivy league too, thank you - and he had a pretty good fake licence to boot.
But he wasn’t here for the cheap beer. It was almost time, so he took his usual place in the corner, right next to the ladies’ room that had a worn ‘out of order’ sign on it. He could barely sit still, his belly squirming with nerves and anticipation. He knew it was wrong, what he was doing. Dangerous even, but he couldn’t help it. He did everything right, okay? He was a 4.0 student in the best college in the country, he had an active social life, volunteered at the local animal shelter… He was a model citizen.
He just had a… type.
