Summary
Mrs Stapleton could not make her mind up whether to be pleased or distressed about Henrietta's going away to Fairy. For there was no doubt it was an honour:
"The first English magicienne to have been invited to the Fairy Court! The instructress to the True Queens of Fairyland! It sounds very fine, I declare."
And yet … "That it should have come at Christmas," said Mrs Stapleton, wringing her hands. "We have never spent a Christmas without you!"
After the events of the book, Henrietta pays a long-awaited visit to Muna in Fairy.

The world hasn't ended. That's cause for celebration! Maybe a little vacation? Find a nice spot they've never been before, and explore it together.
Problem is, when you've been on Earth as long as Aziraphale and Crowley have, there aren't a lot of places left that they haven't seen.
In the attempt to find somewhere to go, they learn a few things about each other that they hadn't known before.

Summary
6,000-odd years is a long time to evolve a romantic relationship, but as a near-immortal being, Crowley had patience. True, they had lost momentum right around reaching the Speaking Looks and Meaningful Gestures stage, but at the time Crowley had been more or less content to let things idle.
Now, he was determined to shift things back into gear, and that gear was Explicitly Romantic Physical Expressions of Affection.

Summary
As soon as Aubrey Thyme, psychotherapist, had opened her office door and seen her new client, Anthony J. Crowley, sitting in her waiting area, she was observing and assessing him. At first glance, she paid attention to the following:
--His clothing was expensive and stylish;
--He wore very strange but noticeable cologne;
--His relationship to the seat he occupied could only, very loosely, be described as “sitting;”
--He looked angry;
--He was wearing sunglasses. What Aubrey Thyme, a professional, thought, upon first seeing her new client was: you’re going to be a fun one, aren’t you?

Summary
He could hear Aziraphale chuckling softly in his ear, and decided to pull himself together. Right. Let go of umbrella. Put arm around waist, very casually. Cool. Right. No big deal.
Even through the overcoat, Aziraphale felt warm and solid and comforting, and Crowley forgot what to do with his feet and tripped. His arm tightened around Aziraphale’s waist, and the arm around his back steadied him.
“Thankss, angel.” Now he was hissing. Just perfect. Cuddling under a white umbrella with cutesy ducks on it, tripping over himself, clinging to an angel, thanking him, and hissing. It was a good thing he had broken with Hell, because he couldn’t face the ridicule.

Summary
Finally, Aziraphale spoke. “You mean to say— you got us married?”
“Just as a precaution, I never really thought I’d end up discorporated again, it’d been ages, you just don’t get stampedes or assassinations like you used to —”
“You got us married, and you didn’t tell me?”
***
Crowley gets inconveniently discorporated. And it’s not like it’s ever been easy to get a new body, but this time around, things really aren’t looking good. His new innuendo-obsessed lust-demon of a coworker honestly isn’t helping things.
Meanwhile, Aziraphale has a dead body to contend with, and an occult mortician & his very normal daughter to fend off. What lengths will he go to in order to get Crowley back to Earth?

Discreet phone sex on the interoffice line isn’t going to cut it anymore. Six weeks after the world summarily failed to end, the increasingly horny Beelzebub and Gabriel are desperate to know whether angels and demons can actually have sex with each other without bursting into flames, or disintegrating into piles of goo. And there’s only one couple they know of whose actions down on Earth might hold the answer…

Summary
CROWLEY: I try not to make a habit of gratitude, but I must give our appreciation to everyone out there who’s been listening and subscribing to The Ineffable Plan.
AZIRAPHALE: Ooh, yes, we’ve become quite popular, haven’t we?
CROWLEY: Yeah, just hit number eight on the advice charts … No advertising at all.
AZIRAPHALE: Mm. How … miraculous.
CROWLEY: … Aziraphale. You did not.***
Crowley and Aziraphale are very possibly the people least qualified, on the entire planet, to start up an advice podcast.
But what else is there to do when the world isn’t ending anytime soon, you’re technically on indefinite sabbatical from your lifelong careers, and you need a plausible excuse to spend more time with your best friend who you’re definitely not, absolutely not, maybe just a little, actually maybe overwhelmingly in love with?

Summary
“I need you,” said Aziraphale, which was far more straightforward than Crowley had been expecting, even after two bottles of wine. The angel stared at his plate, turning as red as the little gems of pomegranate seed on it.
“Well,” Crowley said, at last, trying to keep any giveaway hoarseness out of his voice. “Here I am."
“It’s just that—oh, dear, some things are so difficult to say over the telephone apparatus, aren’t they? Especially if you have your voice messages on. It feels so impersonal, and I really couldn’t wait any longer to ask."
“Good strategy. I’m right here, go ahead,” Crowley said encouragingly, wondering if he should reach for the angel’s hand. Unfortunately, the angel’s closest hand was gripping cutlery as if it was a lifebuoy. Crowley considered putting his hand on one invitingly touchable thigh instead.
“Will you come to a party with me?"
****
Crowley and Aziraphale pose as husbands for a house party, because Aziraphale is bad at saying no (to anyone but Crowley and anyone trying to buy books).
Crowley thinks this is a good chance to prove himself the perfect potential demon husband to a fussy angel. But things get complicated fast. Really complicated.

Summary
Though not the usual sort of thing that is published in this humble periodical, we hope that readers will enjoy this new (and rather unorthodox) translation of the gospel of Matthew from the original Greek. Notes from the editors have been added in places where further clarification is thought necessary.
Those with questions may reach Mr Fell at his bookshop in Soho, although we most emphatically advise them not to try.

The thing which stuck with Crowley the most, from the little-Apocalypse-that-couldn’t, was how close it had all been. They’d been very, very lucky, and after several thousand years of doing Aziraphale’s job on occasion, he had a natural suspicion of luck.
(Or: Crowley can't leave well enough alone.)

Summary
Crowley was good with change, shedding names and hairstyles along the way like so much old skin. Aziraphale disliked change vehemently, but couldn’t help but worry that he really ought to, himself, after finding out that Heaven was, well, not what he’d thought. He’d spent a lot of time writing reports, keeping his head down, and so on; he’d been a Good Angel - or at least within acceptable parameters - and now he didn’t know what that even meant.
On a second, much deeper level, he worried that he should maybe have changed years ago.

'Cause I wasted so much time
On things that I don't like
Don't spend the rest of your life
Playing a game of hide and seek
Can I get a peek?
What's underneath?
I'm kind of hopin' you're a freak like me
Pleasure is such a human thing, isn't it? It's the whole reason why temptation works, and why being Good is so hard. And Aziraphale has gone a bit native in his millennia on Earth.Bookmarked by Splinter
