In later years he’d say it was just the exhaustion urging him on, the same forces removing his thinking filter pushing him to do what was about to happen next. But as Izuku’s compact, muscular form finally reached Katsuki’s wavering one, something in the fiery man’s mind snapped.

“Easy,” Deku tried to soothe him. “Can I touch you?”
“Huh?” Bakugou lifted his head just enough to look at him. “F—fine. Fuck, I don’t care.”
Deku gently placed his hands on his arms, rubbing them with his shaking hands.
“I think their quirk induces anxiety,” Deku said. He only guessed that because after he breathed in the smoke, he felt like he was on the brink of falling apart. However, Deku had been hiding panic attacks for years, so it was like an average day for him.
“I noticed,” Bakugou grumbled, trying to keep up the tough act.

Izuku let out a long-suffering exhale. “I beg your pardon?”
“You forgot Hero Dynamight over your girlfriend,” Kota continued. “That means that he’s… he’s the love of your life.”
Kota’s cheeks reddened like he was embarrassed about what he had just said. Izuku stared at him. He didn’t know a Hero Dynamight. But there were a lot of heroes he didn’t know. The world was a big place, after all.
“You grew up together,” Kota barrelled on. “You tell us all the time how the two of you are friends. He guest lectures here sometimes. You… you don’t know who I’m talking about?”
Izuku swallowed hard as he looked at Kota’s face. If this were any other student, he wouldn’t believe it. But Kota wasn’t the type to joke or kid around, especially not with something of this magnitude.
Izuku accidentally gets hit with one of his students' quirks and temporarily forgets the love of his life - who is not, as it turns out, his current girlfriend.

She thought she'd be over this by now, looking towards her future that was now looking bright, with the whole crime rate decreasing thing. Unfortunately for her she kept thinking back to that day, that battle, that fight with Toga. She couldn't stop, her mind utterly clouded by her smile, the way her fangs shined in the dim light, the way her golden eyes and hair seemed to glow in front of her. The way she cried in pain after exerting herself so much with her quirk to the point of exhaustion, the way she still kept using it in order to save her life. She knew it was going to be a while before she got over her, but she would eventually.
But the past never dies, does it?

“Those are torture wounds,” Shigaraki points out, crossing his arms and leveling Hawks with a dead-eyed stare.
“How do you even know what torture wounds look like?” Hawks throws back as he continues to plan his escape. Shigaraki looks at him with raised eyebrows until Hawks looks away again, feeling like an idiot. These people are villains, he knows that (but its so easy to forget-).
“Right, fuck.”
Hawks flicks him a two fingered salute before turning tail like the coward he feels like and making for the door. He doesn't get more than four feet before Dabi grabs him by one of his wings and yanks him back.
