Summary
Geralt never really thought much about why he did it. His hands had a life of their own sometimes, and after slaying a monster and writing as many specifics he thought could be useful in his journal, he drew it. Sometimes he drew the whole monster, other times he captured just some details, like claws, teeth, wings, a spiked tail...but he didn’t stop at drawing monsters for long.

Or, five times Geralt drew Jaskier and that one time he showed him his work.

Geralt tilts his head to listen, the corner of his mouth twitching upward. The bard has been flirting with him for weeks now, exclaiming he could just die, all over Oxenfurt. At first, Geralt thought the man was being dramatic and didn’t know what he was doing, but no one is that theatrical.
“Little shit at it again?” Lambert grouses. “Just fucking court him already, pretty boy. Or I might just do it for you.”

“For fucks sake, Jaskier!” The Witcher stood up so quickly that the chair he sat on fell backwards. Geralt stomped over to Jaskier, grabbing his arm and pulling the bard to face him. “What the fuck is with you?!”
Jaskier blinked in shock at Geralt’s sudden outburst, thinking that Geralt would have preferred not to listen to his usual flitting about and just wished for the silence he so desired.
“You’re not playing your lute, you’re not talking, you’re not--!” Geralt’s lips pulled back into a snarl, glaring at Jaskier, his grip tightening on Jaskier’s arm. Suddenly, Geralt slumped forward, closing his eyes as his head hung low.

So no, Jaskier would remain an amicable if noisy companion, and Geralt would do damn near anything to not ruin the one nice friendship he’s had in life, including stuffing his feelings down to the deepest darkest corners of his mind.
But the syrupy flutter of Jaskier’s lashes as he opens his eyes, looking up through them at Geralt, impossibly blue and even more impossibly filled with that elusive expression, filled with such open want, that is enough to give Geralt the bravery to say,
“Your deepest desire is… me?”
Jaskier’s eyebrows crinkle together, suddenly cross again.
“Geralt, if you make me say it, I will combust on the spot.” And Geralt half-believes him, what with the flagrant blush creeping up his neck.

Jaskier had been sure that he was nothing short of a nuisance to Geralt for as long as they had been adventuring together. He figured that if something happened to him, Geralt would of course be upset that he couldn't do anything about it.. bur he'd find it a lot easier with him gone in the long run.
Until something really did happen to Jaskier, and he found that Geralt felt much differently than he expected.

Jaskier glares at him one last time, and then he grabs Geralt’s hand and guides it towards his mouth.
Shit.
“Alright, wait, hang on. I need to find it first.”
As Geralt looks, Jaskier holds Geralt’s hand, pressing it to his face. Geralt finds himself pulling at Jaskier’s lip with his thumb, caressing it in the pretense of trying to get a better angle. It is wet and warm, and Geralt really needs to rein in his thoughts.
“Hold still now.”
Geralt cradles Jaskier’s face with both hands and then puts his thumb on Jaskier’s tongue and gently presses down.
It looks… Gods, it looks so indecent. Geralt has to fight with himself to not go too far. Under the pad of his finger, he can feel the tongue move slightly, as if Jaskier is also holding back.
He wonders if it tingles there as much as it did for him.
Without meaning to, he leans closer. The inside of Jaskier’s mouth is hot, slick.
Jaskier tilts his face, Geralt’s other hand follows so now he is touching his ear, that flushed earlobe.
He wants to bite it.Or; little fairies are up to tricks and Geralt and Jaskier finds it hard to behave once they have put their hands on each other

Everything in Jaskier screams, yes, he wants Geralt to stay.
“It will be fine. It is another few days yet, so I should be able to make it smell right by then. It will be miserable, but I have done it before.”
They sit in companionable silence, leaning against the back wall while watching the flames. Their shoulders touch, and Jaskier tries to be subtle in shifting closer. Geralt catches it anyway, lifting his arm and inviting the bard in close.
“Lambert says it hurts going through it alone.”OR; some idiot knothead alpha steals Jaskier's suppressants, and Jaskier and Geralt deals with his upcoming heat. A lovestory.

Geralt always knew Jaskier was Aos Sí, though he figured that if Jaskier wanted him to know, he would tell him; the Gods know the bard loves to talk about himself to everyone and anyone who will listen—and sometimes to those who aren’t listening. He decided to not question him, no matter how curious The Witcher was about Jaskier’s true self. He couldn’t help but stare while the bard performed, dancing and smiling and swirling around, and picture what Jaskier would look like without the glamour. Would his skin have a tint of another color; his ears pointed; teeth sharpened; his form taller? Would he have antlers or hooves? The list of fantasies of what Jaskier might look like went on and on in Geralt’s mind.
Regardless of Jaskier's true self, Geralt knew he would be just as beautiful, possibly moreso.
Yes, Geralt wanted to know what the bard looked like under his glamour, but not like this...
Or
After ignoring the elephant in the room that is Jaskier being Fae for years, things come to a head when Jaskier has to drop his glamor to save Geralt from a Leshen.
