Summary
Clearly, whatever negotiating he had done, Star had gotten what he wanted. Megatron had probably patted him on the head and told him what a good little jet he was.
"You're a mess," Skywarp said softly, pressing his helm against Starscream's. "You got fluids everywhere. You’re leaking."
"Sorry," Starscream whispered. It was so faint Skywarp almost missed it. "Tired."

Starscream is a regular guest in Megatron's berth. His trine, and every Decepticon, knows this. It's a power play, they tell themselves. He wants it.
Every time Starscream comes back reeking of Megatron, Thundercracker and Skywarp are there to tend to him, increasingly convinced this isn't a risk worth taking.
The day he doesn't make it back, though, is the day his trine realises they're in more danger than they could have possibly anticipated.

Starscream’s optics darted away, his faceplates burning.

“Starscream.” Thundercracker’s voice softened. “It’s not a crime to be inexperienced.”
The cadet stiffened, refusing to meet their gaze.
“… No. I haven’t.”

Seeker cadets are expected to trine. Everything in their lives—career advancement, safety, normalcy, acceptance—depends on it.
Starscream has a big mouth and an even bigger ego, and no such inclinations whatsoever.
When he mouths off at his superiors, however, Lieutenant Thundercracker and Sergeant Skywarp realise he needs to be taught a lesson.
AKA: Thundercracker and Skywarp teach Starscream how to use his mouth for something other than talking back.

"Prime?" Ratchet sputtered, stepping back as Deadlock tried to lunge for him. The Decepticon was glaring, his vocalizer emitting a sound like a grinding saw. "You’re joking. That's Deadlock. What the pit does Prime want me to do with him?!"

Summary

But cooperation breeds grudging appreciation (and even more grudging attraction). Each uncovered secret on this mystery world brings them closer to returning to endless war. Can they keep fighting as if nothing has changed? Or will they take the chance for something new?
