Summary
After a dig site in the Arbor wilds uncovers evidence of the Final Inquisitor, Ellana Lavellan goes back to work at the Thedosian Journal and Professor Solas returns to Lydes to finish his spring semester. When Ellana's article becomes an international sensation, she finds herself constantly on the move, doing her best to juggle travel, writing, and a long-distance flirtation that's slowly taking over her every waking thought.
This is a "midquel" set between the events of Overgrown and Roots. It is best read after completing both of those works.

A chance meeting with a cat in need of a home, and a tall stranger in need of a cat, starts a chain of events she would not have predicted (but her group chat could have, and maybe did).
A tale of feline rescues, vet visits, love, nature walks, and many horrible choices. One of the cats is nicknamed the Orb. Our favorite elves do much mutual pining.
There are two timelines. The past timeline is marked by [before] in chapter titles; the present timeline is marked with [now].

The path ahead has to be carved out with occasional violence, but whenever there is a possibility of saving a life, Tav will not hesitate to spare or alter the course of action to save it. When the devil declines a new deal, she is forced to face off against him. But she cannot forgive herself for banishing Raphael back to Cania, where his abusive father is very keen to remind him just how pathetic of an insect he is. The realization of having her life saved by Raphael strengthens her resolve and she ventures to the Eighth layer of Hells. Soon after, Raphael finds himself banished from Hells and bound to a mortal.
It is essentially a character study of my favorite bastard from Baldur's Gate 3, while shedding light onto his more mortal side - the one he so desperately tries to reject. It is my headcanon mixed with canon stuff. Enjoy!
