“It’s fine,” Bucky says, really not wanting to get into another debate over the Oaths and how important they are and how Bucky really, really should already know what he’s going to tell God in a month. “I’ll swear to live for pancakes and eat them for the rest of my life. Every breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner I’ll honor the God-”
“Don’t even joke about that, Bucky!” Becca hisses. Bucky feels a little guilty; she’s really worrying about him, isn’t she? “I know you won’t do anything as stupid as swearing your life on pancakes, but I know you and sometimes you’re so dumb that I just want to strangle you. This time, you can’t wing it, okay? You can’t show up for your Oath and get A+ with no homework done.”

Summary
After Pierce has left the room, Fury points at Rogers, who still looks like a brat with a mouth full of lemons. “Alright, out with it. What’s your goddamn problem?”
Rogers gives him a glare. “It’s a fucking stupid design.”
Fury waves his hand. “The helmet can be redesigned.”
Rogers doesn’t look any happier. If anything, he manages to look even sourer.
Fury narrows his eyes. “Alright. Try again. What’s the real problem?”
“Nothing—”
“Rogers.”
“I fucking hate wearing the tin hats, okay?” Rogers snaps. “You know how ridiculous they make your hair look like? You marinade your head in that sweaty pot for few hours, and take it off, your hair's all flat and sticky and completely ridiculous--”
Fury puts his face in his hands.
Rogers huffs and then says in a surly, martyr-like voice which suggests that he’s making a great personal sacrifice, “But since it’s so important to y’all, fine. I’ll wear it.”

Bucky closes the bathroom door and rubs his temples.
“Davie!” Bucky shouts, and then, just to be fair and to avoid assuming anything, because that’s not what good parents do, he continues with, “Josh! Both of you come here, now!”
