Summary
This is the sequel to "Paper Memories (Part One)." This is Part Two of Two.
Part Two is about Faith and Forgiveness.Xie Lian has found himself in a rather unusual and dire situation.
Not only does he have two amnesiac ghost kings cooped up in his shrine, but Hua Cheng has mysteriously regressed into the form of a child. While Xie Lian is determined to return his Beloved's memories, he also has the help of Shi Qingxuan who is equally driven to restore and confront the person he once considered his best friend. It will be up to the two of them to track down the powerful memory-eating steam spirit who has done this, and with any luck, find a way to return all that has been stolen away by her. This includes Xie Lian’s own lost memories. What could have driven him to nearly commit genocide?

Part One is about healing and anger and love.Xie Lian, still fresh from his seventy years in the coffin, has ascended once again.
Having finally found some measure of peace and happiness living with his savior and new beloved, this 'god of forgiveness' now finds himself all mixed up in grudges, rumors, and heavenly politics. Though still struggling under the weight of his recent trauma, he must now reconcile strained, age-old relationships and determine just what he even wants out of this new position that was suddenly thrust upon him.
He doesn't have to face anything alone, of course, with his ghost king by his side, but considering what has recently crawled from the bowels of Mount Tonglu to terrorize the Ghost Realm, Hua Cheng's new place in his life suddenly feels less than guaranteed...

"In the distance, something caught his eye. There was an unassuming little peach tree on the side of a hill. He could feel something about it was unusual, a slight glow to it against the gloomy sky. As he drew closer he realized the tree was growing out of the massive hollow stump of an old dead one. Though it appeared ordinary, there was an energy to it- a very faint spark of the divine that drew Hua Cheng like a moth to a flame.
He knew, whether intentional or not, this was a grave marker."

Before he can begin to recover from his experience, Xie Lian first must accept he's actually out of the coffin. Hua Cheng wants to avenge his God, even if that's not what he would want.Don't worry too much about Lang Qianqiu. He'll have a bad time, but I promise I won't kill him.

Xie Lian has already had the worst of days, losing his job on a cold, rainy night only to make his long way home and discover he's been kicked out of his temporary lodgings too.
He turns to Hua Cheng, who springs into action like he's been waiting for permission to help Xie Lian this whole time.
Accepting Hua Cheng's help puts Xie Lian into an impossible position, wanting to stay but unable to settle in, until an incident at work sparks a hope in Xie Lian that things can be different.
Yet he can't be so bold to ask for what he wants outright, and Xie Lian embarks on a five-step plan to take his own happiness with both hands.
...Too bad luck isn't on his side.
