But the moment he’d brush the tips of his fingers over the tempting sliver of skin peeking from under his shirt Vash would go rigid. Tense in his arms until he’d push him away gently, a rejection as clear as day, and excuse himself hastily.
Then he’d deny his touch for the next few days.

It started with just a hint of spice mixed in with Vash's normally floral scent that only got stronger over the course of a few days. Then it was constant shifting, and suddenly Wolfwood knew what exactly was going on.
Vash was an omega, and Vash was about to go into heat right in the middle of the desert. And, unbeknownst to everyone in their group, he'd ask Wolfwood to help him ride it out. If only he didn't like the blond a bit more than he probably should.
_____Or: Wolfwood finds out that Vash is an omega and he's about to go into heat, forcing their group to stop for a week. If only he'd known that Vash would want to spend it with him.

His nose slams into the ground, making him feel like his head has been filled with molten heat, thoughts stuttering to an abrupt halt like static blanketing over his brain.
And then the explosion hits and he’s falling.
(Or, Vash makes a decision that inadvertently hurts Wolfwood. He doesn’t take it well.)
