Stephanie knows something's screwy with him, she tells Dick and they decide to figure out just how Jason came about to owning a toddler - it's not like he's Dick Grayson or anything. They're shocked to see him with a child they don't know, until they find out who it is, they're still shocked.

“On the contrary, Castorice. He has already made plans with Sir Theodoros to help him with the field work. I’m sure he finds being that man’s bodyguard a menial task.” This perks up the attention of the sole male Chrysos Heir in the meeting.

Yanqing lowered his head, coughing dust in his lungs mixed with blood from the wound of his tongue. He didn't bother to cover his mouth with his too weak hand, resting the bloody blow on his forehead against the cool sand. Nothing could stop him, the roar of blood rushing through his veins at accelerated speed, making his ears unable to pick out anything else around him. He was panting miserably again, kneeling on the uneven ground. His hands went to his shoulders to warm himself.
And in an irrational attempt to wrap his arms around himself as if he were a child. Like he was going to drown without the needed hug of his body and reassurance that everything would be okay. As if he wasn't a soldier, but a teenager who needed comfort and care.
Because he was no longer a child. He was the lieutenant of the Cloud Knights under General Jing Yuan to protect the people of the Xianzhou Luofu from danger. It was his duty to fight evil. And to fight, he had to be strong.
He was no longer a child.
He wasn't... right?
