Summary
It didn’t do much for physical wounds, not anymore. He hadn’t been hurt in days. But it dulled the other thing.
The thing under his skin.
A restless, electric pressure that crawled along his nerves like insects- too quiet to scream, too loud to ignore. It had started after the Watchers. After them. After whatever he had become- or whatever they had left behind in him.
Or, Grian numbs the parts of himself he can't control. Mumbo watches his friend slip through his fingers.

Summary
Stars don't usually fall, and when they do, they don't bleed. Scar didn't expect the sky to split open that night. He didn't expect to find something winged and wrong, feathered in places no person should be, with too many eyes blinking where none should exist. He definitely didn't expect to bring it home.
(Or, Scar finds an eldritch bird abomination in the woods and brings him home. What could possibly go wrong?)

Summary
The light vibration in his throat as he tried to speak was missing. Like his vocal cords had completely given up on him.
Grian looked back at the two suspected culprits with wide eyes, trying to hide the way his right hand was trembling on his neck.
“I had hoped it would not come to this”, the left one spoke, the voice devoid of emotion. “You have been chosen. You are to become one of Us. And Watchers do not speak.”
—
Evolution was supposed to be a normal server. Grian wasn’t supposed to get trapped in the End and be changed into something beyond his comprehension. As his playerhood gets ripped away, Grian is thrusted into the cold, unfeeling world of Watchers. A world he never was meant to belong to.
Deep down, he is still a player wanting to be whole again. A player wanting to get back his old connections and live a normal life. A player, who had lost his physical body and the ability to interact with his surroundings in the process of becoming a Watcher.
This story is a journey of learning to live once more, finding and returning to normal when "normal" seems unattainable, and finally being able to love yourself again.
