After his father rejected his then 6 year old sons dreams, Jaune Arc did what any reasonable 6 year old would do.
Run off and join a mercenary band that just happened to be passing through, of course. But life wasn't as glamorous as he imagined. What use is a child in battle? Made to do chores, picking up scraps of learning during his time.
Over a decade later, Jaune Arc was still a fledgling mercenary, unskilled in training if not in experience.
But he still dreamed of being a hero. And on the day of his death he recieved a great opportunity.
Every day he dies, he will repeat that day. Until he survives it.

Team RWBY and JNPR enjoy their last few days of vacation before they start their second year at Beacon. Which they hope will go a little better than their first. With Cinder and her agents being caught not long after the breach and the Vytal Tournament being canceled. But all their plans come crashing down when each of the kingdom's announce that their huntsmen Academies will be forcing all foreign students back to their home kingdoms.
How will Ruby manage without her bestie by her side? How will Weiss react to being given the leadership position she desperately wanted just a year before? Will Blake be forced to go back to a nation without an Academy? How will Jaune deal with having his whole team ripped away from him? How with the rest of JNPR survive without their fearless leader?
One thing was for certain, this was not how they expected their 2nd years to go.

It had been something that had been on his mind since the announcement came out from Lord Jacques of the Kingdom of Atlas about his daughter’s kidnapping.
