Ah, this settles it. Someone’s gotten hold of the phone number and is trying to pull some kind of prank. Stella left in a taxi today, because the chauffeur has Tuesdays off.
Set sometime during canon: Jane gets a phone call to warn her that someone needs to pick Stella up from "the hairdresser's."

i was wondering if anyone’s seen this article and what you think. i got into unresolved historical mysteries a few months ago but i only started looking into the "monopoleaks" files after it was mentioned in class so i don’t know all the lore yet.
but i saw this article today that says the full guestlist for the night shit went down leaked and some of it is shady, like some of the guest IDs are known criminals, and others just don’t exist anywhere? and in the comments people are saying it maybe proves that several groups (or individuals) were working all at the same time to bring the tower down and not just an isolated perpetrator like all the popular theories say. like, if it was just one person why can't we find them???
do you guys think its legit? is this finally gonna crack the case???

He snuck away from the Etoiles Noires’ last operation as soon as things were under control, intending to come back here and rest for an hour or two before going back to debrief, but apparently, it's been more than that, if Johnny's resorted to breaking and entering. He knows he's absolutely not welcome here.
"You disappeared two days ago,” Johnny confirms, “and missed all the rendez-vous since." He exaggerates the accent, as usual, though his voice is anything but amused. "I thought you'd been caught or something. Dead."

The Waste is Cristal’s idea, memories of a file she glimpsed on an editor’s desk in another life, someone’s rejected pitch for a story about the rising price of food being due to a failed agritech experiment: an introduced plant species that had taken over an entire region, choking the farms and driving the farmers out. There had been a rough map, and once they reach the right general area it isn’t too hard to follow the warning signs.
Johnny floors it through miles and miles of ghostly landscape, sending up dust clouds that must make them conspicuous among the abandoned buildings and fields/jungles, but perhaps their luck has finally turned, because the skies remain quiet.
