Condi botches the roll to sever the tie that Rachel puts to Rand’s brain. He falls overboard, gasping for air, but only sucks in blood. Kian rushes over to the edge to try and pull Rolan up, but only manages to fall overboard himself. Rolan vaguely makes out the sound of Rachel’s voice saying something above the water. And then everything goes white.
“Fuck, dude! We were so close to the good ending,” Grizzly starts, leaning back and groaning. Condi almost opens his mouth to agree with him before Charlie speaks.
“Hold on,” he says, and they can hear the barely maintained composure in his voice, “I never said we were done.”

Peter Parker is of the (rather justified, if you ask him) opinion that his life is not in need of a soulmate right now. Add it all up, and it'd really just be better for everyone involved if there wasn't one, given the spidery alter-ego and the tragedy that follows him at every turn. Peter gets to keep his scientific scepticism, and they get to keep their life of relative safety, win-win right?
Unfortunately, Fate is not one to give a shit about any of that, and neither is Deadpool.

“Sure, it's a deal,” Peter says, though he has no intention of following through.
Maybe it isn’t fair, but Peter is an opportunist.

Peter loses his superpowers during a fight with a brand-new costumed villain. Desperate to get them back, and with no other heroes available for backup, he receives help from an unlikely candidate.
He’s never been big on team-ups, but this time, he doesn’t really have a choice. Hopefully, it won’t be a complete disaster.

He was going to keel over right then and there, and die on the fucking spot. Sure, it might be from whatever Connors did to him. Peter didn’t even want to think about the chemicals rampaging through his veins, bashing heads with his beloved spider abilities, probably fucking up his DNA beyond repair. And he definitely didn’t want to think about the literal scales crawling up his arms.
Most likely, though? Peter would die because Deadpool was here to see it all happen.
Or, after a certain revenge-hungry scientist returns, Wade decides to help the victim of his schemes: an unlucky guy named Peter.

“Wade,” Peter cringes at how his voice catches, “Hi.”
Wade turns around, turns back, turns again and does a double take. He eyes Peter up and down and to his surprise, turns away snootily.
“Sorry cutie, any other day, I would be super into this hipster nerd slash skater boi with an I you’ve got going on—devastating combo, by the way—I’m sadly not in the mood.”
Peter, fresh out of his multiversal escapades, gains a new perspective in life. One that includes a certain mouthy mercenary, perhaps?
The problem is, the mercenary doesn’t seem to remember him. Like at all. He has a sneaking suspicion it has to do with that spell thing Peter-One was talking about…
