Condi botches the roll to sever the tie that Rachel puts to Rand’s brain. He falls overboard, gasping for air, but only sucks in blood. Kian rushes over to the edge to try and pull Rolan up, but only manages to fall overboard himself. Rolan vaguely makes out the sound of Rachel’s voice saying something above the water. And then everything goes white.
“Fuck, dude! We were so close to the good ending,” Grizzly starts, leaning back and groaning. Condi almost opens his mouth to agree with him before Charlie speaks.
“Hold on,” he says, and they can hear the barely maintained composure in his voice, “I never said we were done.”

Add it all up, and it'd really just be better for everyone involved if there wasn't one, given the spidery alter-ego and the tragedy that follows him at every turn. Peter gets to keep his scientific scepticism, and they get to keep their life of relative safety, win-win right?
Unfortunately, Fate is not one to give a shit about any of that, and neither is Deadpool.
