And okay, so maybe he gets caught up in the moment. Maybe when Patrick bounds over to him, that look in his eyes challenging and sultry and daring, Joe stalks over, only half joking, watching gleefully as Patrick’s baby-blue eyes darken and he almost shrinks back. It gives him a wild sense of satisfaction, a high he’s only gotten from drugs. There’s no sign in Patrick’s body that says he’s uncomfortable; his grin is far from it, wild and challenging Joe to get closer, come on.

"Joe," Andy soon interrupts his incoherent ramblings because apparently he'd been saying all that aloud, "You're not dying, get some rest."
"Psh," Joe says, "You don't know that. You don't know shit about werewolves."
Andy sighs, "I miss when you thought I was the werewolf whisperer."

And the truth is, Andy really doesn't know that much about werewolves. Enough to spot them and catch them and kill them but nothing in the ways of comforting them. And, as it turns out, Patrick himself doesn't know that much about werewolves! Which is actually some bullshit considering the dude is a fucking werewolf but noooo he's a born werewolf who's never turned somebody in his entire life and doesn't want to call his mom because turning someone is frowned upon and blah blah blah whatever. Basically they don't know what to do and Joe has to just rawdog (ha) whatever this is until inevitably all his bones break and realign and he becomes a fucking dog (double ha). Or whatever. He doesn't want to think about it.
Or, What happens when a human is turned into a werewolf? A month's worth of agony and confusion, that's what!

Joe does the only thing he can think of and extends his arms. He just wants to hold Andy, wants to feel that he is real and present, wants the warmth of that confirmation. He wants Andy to know that though Joe’s words are failing him, he is so, so very loved.
Andy comes to him easily, always has. He hesitates, not wanting to hurt him by holding on too tight. There’s a metaphor there, he’s certain. But he can’t be bothered to give a shit about any of it. He pulls Andy close, and can feel more than hear the terribly shaky breath Andy takes as his facade begins to crumble. Andy shakes in his arms, his face as turned into Joe’s chest as it can be without causing any pain. Andy is always thinking about anyone but himself. Fucking asshole.
