If possible, the protocol calls for the captain to subdue the aggressor and administer a truth serum to fill out an incident report.

“Fine.” Qifrey grumbled defeatedly, as though Olruggio had insulted his pride rather than filled his chest with an anxious joy.

Qifrey’s formal robes were a piece of art in their own right. Bankrolled by Beldaruit as a final graduation gift, they were a pale smoke, nearly white, and from what Olruggio could remember the golden embroidery was a sight to see. It vined along the bottom hem and wrapped organically around his throat, and when Olly had seen them for the first time he hadn’t known what to say. Qifrey had stepped forward to speak to him and he’d simply stared until gently reminded that he was still, in fact, capable of speech.
(Truthfully, just an elaborate set piece to put both dads in formal robes for an evening.)

As they work together, Olruggio accidentally adds a mysterious herb to the boiling soup, which has arousing properties. When he adds the extra herb, its scent intensely agitates both men until their hidden feelings for each other burst forth. After their spicy tryst is interrupted by a pot boiling over, they realize their mistake and remake the soup entirely, but their uncovered feelings remain.
