Which, yeah, okay, was maybe the point of this whole stupid, archaic, tradition. Tony was supposed to be hunted. He was supposed to be chased down by the mythical creatures that haunted these woods. And when they caught him he was supposed to submit, to give himself body and soul, to whatever creature chose him as theirs for the night.
He was supposed to be a sacrifice. A gift of submission to appease the creatures who dwelled in the forest that surrounded the sleepy little town of Pine Hollow. His submission was reparation for a debt owed.

“Under no circumstances open this box. No matter how tempting it may be, how curious you may be. Don't. Open. This. Box.” Strange said slowly and emphatically each word. He looked deep into Tony's eyes and his look was a great warning that he meant it. "You got it?"
Or that time when Dr. Strange asked the Avengers for a favor, Tony ignored all the warnings of the Sorcerer Supreme and ended up infected by sex-pollen, and the only solution to get rid of that situation was Steve Rogers.

Steve Rogers has lived in the United States so long that he feels like a citizen. Problem is that he's not and his visa is about to expire. In a panic, he lies that he's engaged. Thankfully, his assistant agrees to the lie.
Tony Stark has his own reasons for marrying Steve, and he's hoping none of them come to light as the pair spend a week in Hawai'i with Tony's framily.
Basically, it's "The Proposal" where Steve is Sandra Bullock and Tony is Ryan Reynolds, but I put it in Hawai'i and couldn't figure out a way to include Betty White. Sorry.
