Summary
It's been a year since they moved into the little house.
Dean relaxes. Lets himself get soft. Figuratively and literally. He shrugs it off and buys new jeans. Lets his hair be shaggy and not so neat, lets Cas cut it while he sits on an upturned bucket in the yard. Wears his cowboy boots the family got him, and a big comfy Led Zeppelin sweater. Lets Cas put the handle in his love handles. It makes him feel good. He feels like a person and not a tool.
And he gets to just be a person. He gets to lay out in the field and enjoy the green of spring all around him. Gets to spend time with his family and not worry so much about what kind of trouble they're getting into. Gets to be in love. Say it and feel the aching joy of it all over him. He wanted to pile it up like leaves and jump in it.
They thrived and grew like the plants in the garden. Like the wildflowers, the weeds, and the trees.
I'm finishing up this fic by doing little ficlets. Sex and character death are warned about in their respective chapters and can be skipped without changing the story.

Everything in purgatory is grey and ashen. Even the water looks dark and gloomy when he bothers to drink it. He doesn't have to so he's mostly stopped. That's one of the reasons purgatory is so good. He doesn't have to think. About his human needs and the maintenance of his constantly needing body or anything else.

Summary
When Ed tries to ask Izzy if he still loves him but chickens out and asks if he still belongs to him instead, Izzy gets understandably pissed and suggests to Lucius that since pushing Ed overboard didn't make him feel better he should try stealing from him. Specifically, he should take something Ed hasn't properly appreciated having. Like Izzy.

“You’re getting dirt on me,” Stede says weakly.
“It was already on you.”
“Well…” Izzy raises an eyebrow and Stede withers a little. “You’re right, that’s true.”
Izzy picks up the brush again and pointedly sweeps another little puff of dust onto Stede’s lap.
“Yes, alright. Go on.”
“Aren’t you going to thank him for pointing that out, mate?” Ed calls from across the room. “You’d keep walking around with a dirty belt elsewise.”
“I–” Stede looks over at Ed, then back down. “I should, yes. Thank you, Izzy.”
“Good,” Izzy says, halfway to a purr, and something about it makes Stede’s back straighten a little more, makes his fingertips press into the arms of the chair.Izzy blacks Stede's boots. Stede learns a thing or two.
