“Dutch and I are older. You’re closest to his age.” Hosea puts a hand up to halt Arthur’s protestations at that– “I know you’re an adult Arthur, you’re still the youngest. He can see an easier path to being you than to being me or being Dutch. That’s a valuable thing for a young man that’s been through what he has.”
He moves his hand to pat Arthur’s arm. “I’ll still be showing him things, but I want him taking your example, too. We all have to pitch in.”
Arthur grunts, and frowns, and gnaws at his lip. But ultimately he acquiesces and bows his big head in deference to his fathers’ wills.
John Marston starts, to him, a burden.

Summary
After the first day of the Interdarshan Championship, Kaveh asks Alhaitham to praise him during sex—because although the two of them disdain each other, they somehow keep ending up in bed together.
“Strong,” Alhaitham murmurs, kissing from Kaveh’s thigh to his hip. “Resolute.”
Stop, Kaveh wants to say. You’re wrong, you’re lying, you’re cruel.
But he asked for this. He asked Alhaitham to take him to bed and praise him, to make him feel like he’s not a complete failure.
Alhaitham knows that Kaveh is none of the words leaving his mouth. Kaveh is neither strong nor resolute, and he is certainly not enough.
But Alhaitham is a linguist. And that means he’s good with words, Kaveh supposes—even when he doesn’t mean them.

Adam Parrish always takes the hard way.
Seizing an opportunity to advance his career up the corporate ladder, Adam accepts the opportunity to speak at a conference in Dublin, Ireland. He's already not a fan of flying, and then his plane has to make an emergency landing in Dingle. All the way across the country. With no other options, Adam has to convince the bartender of a local pub, The Greywaren, to drive him to Dublin.
It should be an easy drive. It's pretty much a straight shot, just about four hours.

Blue followed the movement of his hand and cocked her head, trying to read the spread of cards upside down. She spent a moment studying them. He held his breath, knowing what she would see there. Blue might not be psychic, but she’d grown up with this stuff—she probably knew the theory behind it better than he did. He felt strangely flayed open, knowing what she was looking at. He almost wished he’d picked them up before she could see, but it wouldn’t matter once he told her, anyway.
Blue said, “You two have been spending an awful lot of time together.”

When he’s sixteen, Ronan looks back just as Adam’s pulling off his Aglionby sweater in the back of the Pig (stop looking, stop being so obvious, stop before he notices, just stop) and notices a wide, gorgeous purple swath over his ribs. It’s beautiful in its ugliness, a perfect painting of violence. Ronan had one like that over his ribs the summer he’d learned how to take a man down with the strength of his body – one wrong move and he’d broken a rib. He’d had trouble breathing for a month.
“Christ, Parrish,” he says scornfully. “What happened to you?”
Adam’s blue eyes, normally so brilliant and alert at school, have faded to an exhausted shine; Ronan’s question turns them positively distrustful.
“Nothing,” he says, tugging his white t-shirt down around his hips. “I slept funny.”

For some people that might make them walk on eggshells but Ronan wanted to fucking stomp those eggshells to smithereens. Because the times he made Adam cry were the tender, tender moments when Ronan was saying everything in his heart with his actions.

His dad is away a lot and his mom stays at home. This means there’s always lemonade and cinnamon rolls ready when Ronan gets home from school.
Every day he sees a young boy bike past in the morning and again in the afternoon. He’s only seen glances of him, the glimpse of a worn backpack, shorts in the winter, and an old, rusty bike. He’s pretty and Ronan is entranced in a way he doesn’t really understand.
