"House call for Charles Emerson Winchester the Third!" called Hawkeye, grinning to himself.
He knew how this would go. Charles would open the door, red in the face, and they'd argue - but the man couldn't possibly do him the discourtesy of not inviting him inside now that they were on his home turf. It would be just like old times. Enough normalcy to keep him going for a little while longer.
But the door swung open, and the tired blue eyes that greeted him did not belong to Winchester at all, but to-
"Father Mulcahy?"
He should have been pleased to see him, but something in his chest suddenly plummeted through the floor.
"Actually," came the reply, unusually loud, "it's just Francis, now."

Summary
Multi-fic series driving toward post-war BJ/Peg/Hawkeye/Trapper.
This series will be mostly explicit, sequential fics beginning between S4/S5 and going forward from there.
Each fic will be tagged with the respective ship it's focused on, so readers who prefer Hawk/Beej will have plenty to enjoy before the post-war pivot, but given that we're ultimately progressing toward a post-war quad, please note that Peg is, even when narratively minimally mentioned, a welcome background presence in BJ's life all along the way <3

Suddenly he felt panicked and crazy. Dreams weren’t like this. Dreams didn’t rake the hot coals of the past so aggressively. Nostalgia, fantasy, booze tinted glasses were one thing, but this was another.
“It feels so real, Hawk,” BJ mumbled.
“BJ?” Hawkeye said. BJ could see him lift his head. His hair stood up, making a funny shadow on the wall. “Did you say something? Are you dreaming?”
“I can’t tell. This feels just like the day we met,” BJ said.
“The day we—oh,” Hawkeye’s voice got thin and vulnerable. “Oh, BJ, it’s all going to be okay. Trust me. You know me, don’t you? You know I wouldn’t lie?”
(BJ and Hawkeye get stuck in a time loop.)

Summary
Try as he might, BJ can't fit perfectly back into his pre-Korea Mill Valley life the way he had hoped to. Neither, it turns out, can Peggy. When BJ isolates himself after their separation, Peg calls the one person she thinks might be able to get through to him. Naturally, Hawkeye jumps on the first flight to California.
BJ stepped forward and threw his arms around his best friend, burying his face in Hawkeye’s shirt where Hawk’s neck met his shoulders. The tightness in his chest began to ease for the first time in eight months, and his shoulders relaxed as they released tension he hadn’t realized he had been carrying. For the first time since he watched Hawkeye’s chopper take off months ago, he felt like he could breathe fully.

Despite his prestige, James Wilson has never believed he deserved the gratitude given by treated patients and thankful parents. His conscience would never allow him to feed into the niceties of saving lives, not even the respect that comes with it. I mean, how could such a filthy libertine such as he deserve anything close to praise? Not with those thoughts. Not with that sick head. And certainly not with the same fantasies that keep him clutching his thigh in a cold sweat throughout his shifts.
