When Ninety opens his eyes, the first thing he knows is that he hurts. His vision is blurry. There’s nausea low in his gut, and he momentarily gags on the feeling of an aching-empty belly and twisting fear. It takes a moment or two for the fuzziness in front of him to clear, and then—
There’s a brick wall in front of him, a spindly, rusted staircase leading up, and rough, filthy concrete beneath him. The area is a small space sandwiched between two buildings, a few pieces of abandoned trash all there is to see. A distance away, there’s the sound of traffic and the rushing, overwhelming noise of a city in motion. And... this is nowhere Ninety’s been before. He doesn’t know this alley, not at all, and he’s completely alone.
When he scrambles to remember how he got here, nothing comes to mind. Ninety’s head is full of cotton fluff and sharp, tangled barbed wire that digs in when he thinks too hard. There aren’t any memories at all.

The series where Reader winds up taking care of the modern guns, Ninety edition. A character study with a TON of both fluff and angst. Title translates to "pet/beloved dog".
