A wine tasting event to get closer to the pharmaceutical CEO Virgil was hired to investigate accidentally leads him much, much closer than he anticipated, not that Virgil’s complaining. Roman is key to getting the information his employer asked for, and Virgil is willing to do whatever it takes to get it. Even if it means acting like their arrangement means something to him.
“The only thing he’s good for is my bank account. He doesn’t mean anything more to me than what he can provide. He’s useful for getting the information I need, and although our relationship has other benefits, neither of us is deluded into believing it means anything other than two people taking what they want from each other.”
Virgil’s never let feelings get in the way of his work, and he doesn’t plan to start now. Even with his best friend’s disapproval, even if it means breaking Romans’ heart.
But things rarely go as he plans.
