But his instincts are screaming.

He knows Mumbo would never hurt him, but he can't exactly tell his instincts that now can he.
His body starts shaking as he goes into fight or flight mode.
His wings puff out and Mumbo has to let go as wings involuntarily push away from him.
Grian's heart is racing and not in a good way.
or, Grian's instincts make it hard from Mumbo to show him affection the way he wants.
