“Bianca,” he weeps. “Sorella.” He gasps, out of breath from crying, but he can’t stop himself. Slowly, his legs sink to the floor, but he still keeps his grip firm on his sister, not letting go of her for a second.
He hears Bianca swallow in between his own sobs. “I’ve been gone for a long time, haven’t I?” She says, hand resting on his back. Nico doesn’t respond, only whimpers leave his lips. “It’s okay, Nico, I’m here now. Just cry, Nico.”
And cry he does.

Or, when Bianca somehow comes back from the dead, she, Nico and Will are sent on a quest that will hopefully answer some lingering questions. But Nico and Bianca are not the kids that they once were, and things get very difficult as a result.

Her sobs echoed throughout his cabin and soaked into his orange cotton shirt. He caressed her hair and cradled her small body against his. She looked like a disaster yet he still held her as if she was an iridescent pearl in an oyster, forever bright and forever his.
The thought of forever stung at the back of her throat. She couldn’t fathom how someone could stay for all eternity. It seemed to be something too good to be true. Perhaps the word was just something deemed exclusive for the lifespans of the gods.
When she opened her watery eyes, she could see years of bottled up emotions lining Percy’s shirt. She reached up to her face to wipe her tears, barely managing a small ‘sorry’ before the blonde haired boy beat her to it. He carefully brushed his thumb across her flushed cheeks, his touch lingering on her cold skin.
Annabeth was young and she was confused.

How do they expect seven demigods to defeat them? The gods are fracturing and we all know its only going to get worse.” Then a thought seemed to occur to Thalia, and her jaw went slack.
Annabeth could see Thalia had caught up. They both knew they were thinking of the same person, Annabeth could see it in her sister’s eyes; the image of a god that was purely Greek, undivided, with every reason to be involved in the progress of a demigod’s prophecy. They both knew he was sure to involve himself one way or another, he wouldn’t be able to help himself.

Athena’s eyes flash and glow, and she raises her hands. Annabeth closes her eyes, and everything in the air sizzles to a stop. There is a faint sea breeze, and then a familiar presence at her side.
“It would be unwise of you to hurt her.”
She opens her eyes to her boyfriend’s dad standing behind her, his eyes intent on her mother, who looks like she’s about to blow her top. Annabeth doesn’t breathe, doesn’t look away from Athena, but she takes several quick steps back to stand at Poseidon’s side. It’s not conscious; it’s a move based purely on self-preservation. Still, Annabeth is aware that every step she takes into the sea increases her mother’s ire and decreases the likelihood that Annabeth will ever be forgiven.

Poseidon would never lay a hand on his own son, even when he was angry. So there was a singular conclusion and it took a moment to accept. He didn’t want to be, but if he was correct… The god lowered himself to his knees so he was at eye level with his eighteen-year-old son. “Percy?"
“G…” He almost choked on his words. “I-It was… it was him, dad…” He clung to himself, blue sweatshirt sleeves pulled over his hands and arms pulled up to his chest.
The god was quiet for a moment. “Percy, I am only going to ask this once.” His tone remained calm, but it was firm, yet not unkind. “Did Gabe abuse you?”
