Summary
Seth Domade had many good qualities. He was human and, as such, could traverse Rexxentrum with ease. He had some unremarkable magical capabilities, so it was not odd that he might, say, use Comprehend Languages to read a book or cast Prestidigitation to clean the muck from his boots.
Seth Domade, however, was not a powerful wizard. He did not wield spells that could disrupt the gravity of an entire street or send his attackers flying into a wall. Seth Domade was a quiet, unassuming man. He spent most of his days editing volumes in the Cobalt Soul’s library, and he looked the part.
Around the time the silence manacles clapped around his wrists, Essek realized he should have dropped the facade of Seth Domade earlier.Series

Summary
When Spock begins eating three times his normal intake and his stomach starts growling audibly on the bridge, Jim Kirk does what Jim Kirk does — he notices, he shows up, and he refuses to let Spock push through it alone. What neither of them knows is that the hunger is only the beginning. That Spock's body has already decided something his mind has been refusing to acknowledge for four years and seven months. That the Vulcan Science Academy will call it a physiological cycle and McCoy will call it above his pay grade and T'Pring, from Vulcan, will call it by its right name — the human, she says, with the precision of someone who has been aware of him for three years through a bond worn thin by distance and disuse.
Spock calls it worse than that.
Spock calls it Jim.
A slow burn set during the five year mission, in which Spock's body knows what it wants long before Spock is willing to name it, Jim Kirk has always been paying attention, T'Pring is more understanding than expected, McCoy is a better doctor than anyone deserves, and the hunger is a metaphor and also completely literal.

“We were wrong about the pollen from Cetus II not affecting him,” Bones says in an undertone. “He didn’t get his senses tangled up like the others, though. It targeted his psionic abilities.”
or, Spock's telepathy gets screwed up on an away mission. Laying hands on his crewmates to train his senses back to normal is the only cure. Jim is happy to help—even if there are some feelings he'd rather keep to himself.

“Should I call Bones?”
“I would prefer that you did not.”
Jim snorted at that - any man would. Spock could be on his deathbed and he’d still decline Bones’ tender mercies. He heaved himself upright, suppressing the urge to wince, and said, “He’ll be here soon anyway. Anything you want to mention before he does?”
“Yes.” Spock, likewise, sat up. “I appear to be under some compulsion to speak the truth.”

There are consequences to using untested drugs to save your father's life, and Spock is about to meet them full throttle. Jim can only try and keep his too-honest Vulcan from insulting crew, ambassadors, admirals, and parents.

Summary
He pushed the feeling of a question into Jim's mind and received nothing insightful in return. That did not mean that he did not appreciate the warm glow of Jim's affection, nor did it mean that he did not take note of the slowly banking heat at the back of Jim's mind; it only meant that these things did not clarify the current situation.
And that—in itself—was what made him realise.
He was being seduced. For nefarious purposes.

Summary
The Enterprise escorts Federation historians to a symposium on Tarsus IV — the site of a massacre Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Riley barely survived. When a colony ship faces disaster en route, old trauma collides with urgent duty.
---
Governor Sorell shifted on-screen, his eyes darting to a datapad. “With respect, Captain Kirk, Admiral Komack — our math tells us we can not hold out that long. If the remaining replicators fail completely, if your ship can’t produce food in sufficient volume — I simply do not see a way out. Do Starfleet emergency directives call for selective preemptive triage for survivors?”
The call went silent.
Kirk blinked slowly. “Governor… repeat that, please.”

A look into the Personal Logs of a Linguist on Deep Space Nine, who is uncovering the funniest and sweetest translation errors, and trying to patch the UT along the way.

And if you had asked Lieutenant Wittgenstein, who was currently tasked with the next report on the use of the UT on Deep Space Nine, which was a special case, what with all the Gamma Quadrant languages mingling in the matrix now, nevermind the decidedly casual language the UT was being exposed to at Quarks, she could have told you a number of things. The UT memory bank transcripts, heavily encrypted and for the linguists’ eyes only, of course, were littered with missed moments, lost meanings, and mix-ups. For instance…- Language:
