For In-ho, who’s had to be a reliable son, brother, and formerly husband for so long, the idea of being taken care of is… simply unthinkable. But one day, when he tries to head into work sick, his neighbor Gi-hun (who he’s been unreasonably crushing on for a while but it’s fine) forces him back to bed, touching him so gently and feeding him samgyetang.
Suddenly he’s addicted, but he doesn’t know how to ask Gi-hun for more of… whatever this is. So he concocts a few “accidents” to happen to him, in hopes of drawing Gi-hun closer and satisfying this new need of his.

Hwang In-ho was a mess. Mentally, physically— hell, even spiritually. His thoughts were winding, occasionally unbearable; scaling his mind, sliding between the cracks, constant echos incapable of finding their freedom. These abominations only reflected the unstable nature of his home; papers strewn across the expanse of the expensive marble flooring, work plans carelessly exposed to anybody who had the pleasure of walking by, a gun or two poking out from the most unusual places in case of any unanticipated danger. Nothing was adding up or making sense. Nothing was making his predicament any easier. Shocker - he had never been a lucky guy. Or perhaps he had been lucky once or twice, only to be ignored for his own arrogance. That was his problem, you see. Never had he been one for modesty; one for subtlety. Never had he been one to see a light in his darkness.

Not that the man would know, he's just trying to do his job as Hwang Inho's secretary. But to the rest of his adoring (i.e. obsessed) fans, they'd like for him to very much stop being Inho's secretary and to instead be theirs.

What if Jun-hee had asked Dae-ho to follow Myung-gi when he went to the bathroom? Worried about her ex-boyfriend, knowing that the whole division between the 'O' and 'X' was getting more and more dangerous. Still having the feeling of concern about him, knowing very well the idiot she was dating and the confusion that can happen because of his personality. She makes Dae-ho go there to protect Myung-gi, an innocent request for her friend.
Or, Dae-ho stops the fight and avoids several deaths that could have happened, but ends up becoming one of Thanos and Namgyu's targets.

… oh god, what the fuck is he doing? Jun-ho should have kept his mouth shut. The last thing his brother needs is rumors spreading around the office about his sexuality!
“I mean, to be clear, I don’t know if hyung is even attracted to men -”
“Are you?”
“What?”
“I said, ‘The Captain isn’t attracted to anyone'. So at this point, if someone catches his attention, I personally don’t think gender matters.”
Jun-ho lets out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. He forgot they both saw the same thing. Some schmuck of a spirit must be possessing Captain Hwang whenever Seong Gi-hun comes around, because that was not his charismatic, charming, self-assured hyung in there!

Summary
In-ho has one chance to convince Gi-hun to join him as his right-hand-man, or else the VIPs want him dead. He agrees.
Because In-ho is right. The rebellion didn't work. It was never going to work. The players are simply too far removed from the people really in charge. Even killing the Front Man would only result in a replacement Front Man. But as the Front Man's protégé, Gi-hun can make a difference. He can do what he can for the players from above, rather than below. He can investigate the gold-masked men. He can scheme.
There's light in the darkness. In-ho helps Gi-hun get Ga-yeong back. He teaches him how to fight, how to survive in this deadly world. Slowly, slowly, they begin to trust each other. (The kissing happens long before the trust.)
Gi-hun uses his new power, undreamt of in his old life, to do what he never did before: think only of others. And the luxury helps, the high-end alcohol helps, but of course he's still tortured by guilt. But at least they're tortured together, and take sanctuary in each other. Gi-hun gets to fight in favor of the players; In-ho gets to not be alone. They both got what they wanted.
