Jason gives him an exasperated look as they get to the front door. “Seriously, Dick. I’m fine. Promise. I’ve had a helluva lot worse than this, and still managed a patrol, with a lot less sleep than this. I’ll take it easy, keep the ass-kickin’ to a minimum tonight, alright?” He says with a grin. And fuck the things Dick would do for that grin. It erases the hard edges, the cold and calculating Red Hood, leaving behind a mischievous looking young man, rather than a younger version of Bruce.
So he sighs. “Fine. Just call me if you need anything, okay? I’m gonna be in town for a few days anyways, until we get this Two-Face thing figured out, so it’s not like it’s out of my way,” Dick says as he steps outside into the driveway. “Besides, it’d be nice to hang out more often.”
Jason gives Dick an unsure look, and for a moment, Dick can feel his heart sink a bit. Did Jason not enjoy their breakfast? Dick had intruded, to be fair, but Jason had seemed to enjoy -
“Yeah? You wanna hang?”

It also helps that, unlike his brothers, Drake enters the room, and gives Jonathan a polite nod. "Mr. Sims."

The story Jason tells is this:
There he was, twelve years old, out on the town with his tire iron, looking for a decent set of tires to jack. Hopefully, make enough to buy a couple of burgers and a pack of smokes. Then… there it is. The Batmobile. Just sitting there. And that's definitely worth a few days worth of burgers and maybe a carton of smokes. He gets three tires off, when Bruce comes back, and spots him. Jason hits him in the chest with the tire iron, and tries to run. Bruce finds him. Brings him back to the manor. The rest, as they say, is history.
It's a good story. It fits the Jason-who-came-back-as-Red-Hood perfectly. Hell, it kinda fits the Jason he was trying to grow into during his three years living with Bruce even.

"Huh?" Dick asks, a little stupidly, given that he knows exactly what Luke is talking about.
"Your buddy chain smoking on the steps. He could come in and join us," Luke repeats easily. "Ain't like we don't have enough chairs. No reason for him to wait outside. Gonna get cold soon."
"That's not… S'my brother," Dick says a little uncomfortably. "He just… he helped find this. For me. And he uh… he worries."
Six weeks after Jason and Dick's trip to the cabin, things are slowly improving. It's a process.

Hell, Stevie's not real thrilled about Hill sending Bucky to try and recruit the Red Hood in the first place, citing the man's penchant for shooting anyone who pisses him off, a duffle bag full of heads, and brutal fights with Batman over the last three years.
