Summary
After things takes a turn for the worse during the overblot fight Kalim finds himself suddenly back to his first year right when the first term exams results drop. This is for him the unique opportunity to stop Jamil from overblotting and give him the freedom he wished for. Even if it means Kalim had to end their friendship. It’s not like Jamil would be hurt by it, it had been one sided all along, right?
Jamil was secretly freaking out, how did Kalim figure out he lowered his grades on purpose? Since when did that dense idiot pick up on those things? And he didn’t want to be friends anymore?! What was going on here?!
The major character death is right at the beginning of chapter one, and gets reversed right away. There will be no additional death.

Summary
In one world, a ghost lingers.
It is dragged down by grief, by the weight of everyone that it has lost. It is a lonely god at the peak of the Pantheons, raining void down onto the golden glory of Godhome.
In this world, it has nothing left to do. A ghost without a purpose should not exist, and yet here it remains. It wishes for another way out of this limbo, this endless cycle of pain.
And so it gives up its godhood, dissolving into essence and broken dreams.

In another world, Ghost’s eyes open.
In this world, they’re only twelve, with a small fluff of dusty-blond hair and wide, midnight blue eyes dark as the deep Caribbeans.
They’re sitting in the backseat of an SUV, strapped in a seatbelt, eyes half lidded as they listen to their siblings bicker in the background. At their mother’s chiding tone, Hornet grumbles in complaint, jabbing a finger at the amused smirk on Hollow’s face.
It fills Ghost with a feeling of comfort and belonging they haven’t felt in… Forever, actually.
Ghost closes their eyes with a sleepy smile, content.
(But of course it can’t be that easy.)
