As soon as Cody was hoisted out of the water he was embraced in a bone-crushing hug that made him wheeze. Fortunately for his ribs the bear hug was cut short because Frankie reminded Kade that she was still there. So, while the red-head pulled her up, Cody clambered over to the passenger seat.
This is right after Frankie saves Cody from the Morocco Bot and is a fic I've been wanting to write for awhile. I decided to use this as a way to practice some differences I wanted to make in my writing.

Cody burns... He's been through a lot. From mythical boats, to Dino bots. Unknown family relatives, and remembering the past ones. Life hasn't been easy on the youngest.
So... how did it surprise anyone when he stopped trying? When he decided life was a burden?
And, it certainly shouldn't have been a surprise when things didn't start turning up after a few days.
(Or, Cody suffers from depression. It's projection time.)
