Summary
Ruby is in a constant, exhausting battle against a demon that lives inside her. The demon, a product of her trauma and powers, whispers promises of immense strength and an end to her pain. However, Ruby sees through these lies, knowing that to give in would mean losing herself entirely and becoming a prisoner to its influence.
This internal war is always present. She can feel its power in the tremor of her hands and a cold, contemptuous voice that tries to poison her thoughts. It is a silent, unending fight that she must wage every moment to maintain control over her own body and mind. This struggle is the most difficult and private challenge she faces.
But what happens when she has the support she needs? While the struggle is still exhausting, the presence of her team gives her the strength to endure it. She fights not just for herself, but for them. Their support gives her the willpower to push the darkness back into its cage, proving that her humanity and the bonds she shares with her friends are far more powerful than the beast within. The battle is never over, but with her team by her side, victory is always possible.

Summary
White Rose prequel to Dream Theory!
As the Vale Police Department’s head of technology, Ruby relies on her technical know-how to help detectives build cases and put criminals away. She’s good at what she does - great, even - but some days she feels a little...unchallenged.
Weiss, on the other hand, has no issue with her job’s lack of challenge. As one of Vale’s best defense attorneys, she actually quite enjoys browbeating the prosecution into submission. Her goal is to be the BEST, and she’ll do just about anything to get there.
When Weiss’ ambition leads her into Ruby’s world, crossing the line between allowable and forbidden, both of them are changed in ways they never would have expected.

In another life, they could be children and not branded as monsters only to be cast aside like worthless cattle. But, this was their reality. This wasn't their home but a reminder. A home where the sun never touched the ground and death stalked at every corner. Biding by until it was time to claim another who’s soul was misplaced.

Evie has always been a loner. A girl trapped behind her mother's castle walls, where she's forced to learn about makeup and beauty and how to hook a prince. Her mother doesn't seem to care that Evie would rather hook a princess - or a wicked girl in leather.
For the past four years, Mal has been Auradon Prep's resident freak. A girl who terrifies the other kids, who hides behind clenched fists and eyes of dragon-green, pretending it doesn't hurt that she's been labeled Maleficent Junior. Her one escape is tourney. She's team captain, and she will lead her team to victory - if her mother the tourney coach doesn't suck out all the fun first.
Mal never expects to find another escape, one her mother cannot take away.
Evie never expects to find a wicked girl in leather, one her mother cannot replace with a prince.
But when their mothers force them to attend a New Year's party at a ski lodge, and they both somehow end up on stage, forced to sing a duet, each girl discovers what they've been missing: singing. And each other.
